Ferg Reveals Max B's Emotional Tie To His Late Father: "I Didn't Know How Deep It Ran"

Ferg revealed a surprising backstory about Max B and his late father, Darold Ferguson Sr., during a recent vlog, sharing that the Harlem rapper once worked side by side with his dad in a T-shirt printing hustle long before either of them became known names in Hip-Hop.

The A$AP Mob artist dropped the revelation just days after Max B was released from East Jersey State Prison on Sunday (November 9), ending a 16-year sentence that began in 2009.




The Harlem native, known for his melodic "wavy" sound, had his original 75-year sentence reduced in a lengthy legal battle.




"Three weeks ago, he told me that he was silk-screening t-shirts with my dad. He was like D Ferg's little man," Ferg said in the vlog. "I didn't know how deep it ran with him and my family, but that's really the history. He's like one of the guys that my father helped pull up in the neighbourhood."

Ferg Says His Connection With Max B Runs Deeper Than Rap

Ferg explained that his father, who passed away in 2005 from kidney failure, had a habit of mentoring young men in the neighborhood and tried to steer them away from trouble.




"We built our rapport from the fam," he added. "It's not even on no rap s###."

Darold Ferguson Sr. was a respected Harlem designer who ran a boutique and made a name for himself in the 90s and early 2000s, printing shirts and creating logos for major record labels like Bad Boy Records and Uptown Records. He also worked with artists including Teddy Riley, Heavy D and Bell Biv DeVoe.




That same creative drive would later influence Ferg's own ventures in fashion, including his Traplord clothing line, which became a staple in Hip-Hop streetwear.




Max B's release has already stirred excitement in the music world. He's reconnected with longtime collaborator French Montana and is reportedly working on new material.
