LimeWire Teams Up With Soulja Boy, A$AP TyY And More For Virtual Festival

LimeWire made its debut in the 3D virtual world of Decetraland by hosting one of the main stages during the Metaverse Music Festival this past week.

The festival took place in an otherworldly cyberpunk landscape, being reclaimed by nature. Over 200 artists performed across 15 stages over four days.

The LimeWire stage featured headliners, including Soulja BoyA$AP TyYQuincyElijah BlakeLil Bitcoin, and EscapePlan. In total, seventeen artists performed on the stage throughout the festival.

Exclusive VIP perks offered at the Main Stage area included a dedicated space for those who copped the LimeWire Originals NFT collection. VIPs were treated to special guests, and there was artist merchandise available.

In addition to high-profile live performances, LiveWire boasted some of the most popular digital merchandise. The recently relaunched company ranked as one of the top five creators on Decentraland. It had the third most sold item with its digital sneakers.

LimeWire announced that it would relaunch as a music-focused NFT marketplace earlier this year. Initially launched in 2000 as a file-sharing site, LimeWire became the go-to for downloading music. The company was shuttered after getting hit with multiple copyright infringement lawsuits.

The company linked up with Soulja Boy to announce its comeback, releasing a commercial backed by Big Draco's 2007 "Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)." The song was one of the most downloaded on the site upon its release.
