Meek Mill, Michael Rubin & Kevin Hart Make $7 Million Donation For Scholarships & Computers In Phill
Meek Mill has joined forces with Kevin Hart and Michael Rubin to donate $7 million to schools in Philadelphia.
The three came together for the massive grant that will benefit 60 different schools in the area. The benefitting schools include both private and public institutions. All funds will go towards scholarships for low-income students and meeting tech-related needs in the academies, such as computers, tablets, and WiFi, to help them succeed in the 2023-24 school year.
Hart and Meek are both Philly natives, while Rubin, who co-owns the Philadelphia 76ers, grew up in Lafayette Hill, about 30 minutes from the city. The schools that will receive the money have yet to be disclosed. However, the men's spokesperson, Arianne Antonio, did confirm that the recipients are in South and North Philadelphia. The Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools will oversee and distribute the scholarships. Families may soon start applying by providing proof of income and demographics.
The "Dreams & Nightmares" rapper shared the news on Twitter but also took a moment to slam media outlets that didn't cover the announcement on their platforms.
"You see the blogs didn't catch this one. They highlight anything negative about their own people. It's getting readable!" he wrote.

This is not the trio's first time coming together to benefit the city they love so deeply. Last year, they donated a generous $15 million to 100 schools across the city.
