The must-watch movie features a slew of Hollywood heavyweights from Nia Long to Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali.
The Michael Larnell-directed film tells the story of the 14-year-old Queens MC—played by Chanté Adams—who was a member of the Juice Crew hip-hop collective. It also stars Nia Long, Mahershala Ali, Beastie Boys’ Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz), and more. Co-producers for the film include Pharrell Williams, Mimi Valdes, and Forest Whitaker. Roxanne Shanté is one of the executive producers. Roxanne Roxanne debuted at Sundance 2017. It premieres on Netflix on March 23. (Pitchfork)
