Rapper Ca$h Out & Mom Convicted Of RICO, Sex Trafficking

Atlanta rapper Ca$h Out can forget about picking up the microphone, because a Fulton County, Georgia jury just convicted the rapper of multiple counts in his RICO case over sex trafficking.

The rapper was found guilty of rape, pimping and aggravated sodomy as part of a years-long operation that prosecutors say trafficked women across Atlanta.

He was convicted on two counts of sex trafficking but cleared on a third. He was also acquitted of charges including sexual servitude, aggravated assault and maintaining a place of prostitution.

Georgia authorities accused Ca$h Out of spearheading a criminal operation alongside his mother and a third defendant.

His mother, Linda Smith, who also goes by "Mama Ca$h Out," was found guilty of one trafficking count and acquitted of another and a prostitution charge.

Tyrone Taylor, the third man listed in the indictment, was convicted on all counts except pimping. Charges against Taylor included rape and aggravated sodomy.

The case, which unfolded in a Fulton County courtroom, exposed an organized sex ring stretching over the years. Prosecutors told the court that multiple victims were sexually assaulted by Ca$h Out and Taylor and coerced into prostitution.

Close to 60 witnesses were called, building a case centered on coercion, exploitation and alarming abuse. Several women testified that Ca$h Out or his mother took the money they earned from performing sex acts.

Some described being raped. One woman said she wasn't allowed to eat unless she engaged in sexual acts for money.

Authorities also introduced a video from a prostitution sting as part of the prosecution's evidence, arguing it illustrated the organized nature of the trafficking ring Ca$h Out led.

While the state charged Ca$h Out using RICO statutes usually reserved for mob-related crimes, prosecutors argued the organization operated like a for-profit criminal enterprise involving sex work and violence.

The trio is scheduled for sentencing later this year.

Ca$h Out rose to prominence with his hit single "Cashin' Out" but had mostly slipped from the spotlight before authorities opened the criminal investigation in 2019.
