Singer Donell Jones Shares That He Crashed His Car After Falling Asleep at the Wheel

Singer Donell Jones revealed he was recently in a car accident.

On Tuesday, Jones shared on Instagram that he was involved in a car crash after falling asleep at the wheel. Luckily, the singer didn't suffer any injuries but says he learned a "valuable lesson."

Jones showed images from the accident of his damaged silver Mercedes-Benz S-Class stuck in a ditch alongside the road.

"I fell asleep while driving yesterday and ended up in a ditch," he wrote in his caption. "I walk away with no injuries but I learned a valuable lesson, That if you're tired just park the car cause this could've been bad."

He added, "I know that I am truly protected but I needed this experience.... Thank you God for wrapping your arms around me as you have always done... My love and loyalty is to you."

A few of Jones' musical peers sent wishes and supportive messages to the singer on his post.

"I'm glad you're ok," Coco from SWV wrote, and Fat Joe chimed in, "My brother hope you ok."

Outside of his recent accident, Jones has taken his talents over to the acting industry. Jones made his acting debut on HBO's "Southside" series. However, he is still involved in music and hit the stage last month for Femme It Forward's Serenade Series alongside Eric Benét.
