It's Time For J'sFitTip Of The Week. Here's week 1 of my intro to my 4 week Alkaline Diet Program.

Now you maybe wondering.. What is an Alkaline Diet? Asking yourself does it work? Let's start off with the basics.

A alkaline diet emphasizes replacing acidic foods with alkaline foods to make your body's pH more alkaline while enhancing your overall health.

When you eat, your metabolism converts food into energy through a variety of chemical reactions.

Think of your metabolism as your body's furnace, or fire, that "burns" the food you eat. Just like how wood burning in a fire leaves behind ash, your metabolism also leaves behind an ashy residue.

This residue is known as metabolic waste.

What you eat is what determines if this waste is alkaline or acidic, which can directly affect your body's level of acidity. Here's how it works:

Eat acidic foods = more acidic blood = more vulnerable to illness and other symptoms
Eat alkaline foods = more alkaline blood = protective and improved health.

Some common examples of acidic foods are meat, fish, dairy products, eggs, lemons, limes, apples, grains, processed foods, and alcohol. Acidic foods have a 4.6 pH or lower.

By choosing to eat alkaline foods such as blueberries, avocado, nuts, legumes, whole grains, healthy fats, and fresh vegetables - you can help balance your body's pH levels and enhance your overall health.

This week try to eliminate some acidic foods from your diet for at least 7 days. Remember to drink a gallon of water a day while doing so. Use some of these fruit recommendations above. Honduran herbalist, Dr. Sebi who was one of thee best self-proclaimed healers of the world swears by them.
