Cam'Ron Sued by Photographer for a Photo of His Own Face on Merch Read More: Kanye West's $57 Milli

One of Cam'ron's most iconic photos features him rocking a pink fur jacket, matching hat and holding a pink flip phone to his ear. Through the years, the Harlem rhymer has profited off merchandise with the signature photograph, but the photographer who took the famous photo wants a piece of the pie.

Cam'ron was slapped with a copyright-infringement lawsuit by photographer Djamilla Rosa Cochran who claimed the Dipset leader has been using the classic 2003 photo on numerous products, including shower curtains, pillows, swimsuits, and socks. Before filing the lawsuit, the photog alleged that Cam was reportedly notified multiple times that he didn't have permission to use the photo of himself on merchandise.

While it might sound strange for a celebrity to be sued for his own image in a photograph, copyrights to a photo are almost always retained by the cameraperson who snapped it. According to copyright laws, a person is prohibited from using an image freely, including for sale on merchandise.
