KERI HILSON DOESN'T BELIEVE 'MYTH' THAT SOME COUPLES ARE 'MADE FOR EACH OTHER'

Keri Hilson doesn't feel there's such thing as two people being "made for each other" in a relationship.

Taking to Twitter/X to expound on her thoughts on Wednesday (December 13), the "Pretty Girl Rock" singer called the idea a myth that she actually believes is quite damaging.

"I don't think I believe that any relationship exists where two people are just naturally made perfect for each other," she began. "I feel like that's a damaging myth. We're talking about two people with completely different family structures, backgrounds/foundations, experiences, different traumas/triggers, beliefs, etc."

She continued: "I believe a healthy relationship takes work, compromise, sacrifice, self-awareness, understanding, patience, and even adjustments on BOTH ends. What are your thoughts?"

Later, Keri was accused of only talking about relationships on her platforms, and she had quite the response:

"Let's nip this in the bud: I study love for a living," she replied. "I exploit endless pov's to write/sing songs about love: relationship, single-hood, heartbreak, new love, good love, bad love, even marriage if I'm writing for someone or for a project where that's the case. I engage in deep thought, conversation, observation or any combination of the three as an occupational hazard, regarding-LOVE."

She continued: "It is as much a fascination as it is my occupation & my GIFT. So when I'M tweeting, I could simply be musing about love from personal experience, that of others, or it is often nothing more than a spark of thought from studio conversation, an assumed or deeply pondered and random pov.

"Thank you for coming to my TED TALK. I'm not sure who you thought I was or what you thought I do. Hope this helps you follow my drift."

On the music side of things, Keri Hilson recently explained the long delay in a new body of work since 2010's No Boys Allowed and revealed she's finally ready to drop some new tunes.

"It took a second; a lot of things happened that prevented it," she said on an October episode of Tank and J. Valentine's R&B Money podcast. "I blame it on one thing, but really it was years of a struggle. I fought through that, but I'm free, and I'm ready."

She continued: "We're starting to take meetings to figure out how we want to do this thing [and] where we want to do this thing."

At the top of the year, Keri had said she planned to drop a new album for 2023, but evidently fans will have to wait until 2024 at this point.

In the years since the release of her last album, Keri Hilson has appeared in numerous films, including 2012's popular Think Like a Man with Regina Hall, Kevin Hart and Gabrielle Union.
