METRO BOOMIN SET TO RELEASE DEBUT ISSUE OF 'THE METROVERSE' COMIC BOOK SERIES

Metro Boomin's proximity to the superhero universe is no secret, and he has now directly inserted himself into it.

On Friday (June 14), the inaugural issue of The Metroverse comic book series will be available to purchase here. Written by Ryan Cady and illustrated by Vasilis Lolos, the first installment is titled "The Rise" and will feature a superhuman version of the Missouri native going up against a tyrannical media mogul.


Only 4,000 copies of the standard edition have been printed for the opening run, though the item will also be sold at a Complex pop-up in Los Angeles the day before it goes live online. Each package will come with an art print and enamel pin.

"It's a dream come true to have my own comic book on shelves," the Missouri native told Rolling Stone about his latest endeavor.

In adjacent news, Kid Cudi made his comic-book debut with Moon Man earlier this year. Released in late January, the superhero saga has been marketed as a contemporary reimagining of Miracleman.

The animated piece was written by the 39-year-old in partnership with artist and director Kyle Higgins.

The 40-page release has been a massive hit among Cudder's fans as well as comic-book enthusiasts, as it sold out soon after going live online.
