Jerry Seinfeld Misses 'Dominant Masculinity': 'I Get The Toxic Thing[...]But I Still Like A Real Man'

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld recently shared his thoughts on the loss of "dominant masculinity" in today's society.

The actor expressed frustrations about there not being many "real" men around in his opinion, and reflected on a time he felt the culture was flourishing with them.

Jerry Seinfeld, 70, spoke about the matter during a recent interview where he addressed his youth and discussed his childhood desire to be "a real man." He stated:

"I really thought when I was in that era, again, it was [John F. Kennedy], it was Muhammad Ali, it was Sean Connery, Howard Cosell, you can go all the way down there. That's a real man." 

Continuing, the TV star admitted that he never actualized his dream due to his career as a comedian, which he admitted is a "childish pursuit" that doesn't allow one to grow up. Despite this, he said he still misses being engulfed in his boyish idea of being a man, adding:

"But I miss a dominant masculinity...Yeah, I get the toxic thing. Thank you, thank you. But still, I like a real man."

As previously covered, this isn't the first time Jerry Seinfeld has voiced concerns about today's culture. During a previous interview, the entertainer joined several of his fellow comics to complain about the restrictions the comedy industry is facing due to fear of offending someone. As we also reported, Wild N' Out comedian Pretty Vee recently expressed concerns about the same thing.



Sharing his thoughts, Seinfeld stated:

"It used to be that you'd go home at the end of the day, most people would go, 'Oh,' Cheers' is on. Oh, 'M.A.S.H.' is on. Oh, '[The] Mary Tyler Moore [Show]' is on, 'All in the Family' is on.' You just expected [there will] be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight,"

He added:

"Well, guess what? Where is it? Where is it? This is the result of the extreme left and P.C. crap and people worrying so much about offending other people."
