Las Vegas Grand Prix Reaches Settlement with Local Businesses Over Financial Losses

The Las Vegas Grand Prix has reached settlements with three local businesses that claimed financial losses due to the annual race in Southern Nevada. The businesses involved are Battista's Hole in the Wall restaurant, Stage Door Casino, and Jay's Market convenience store, all located near the race circuit.

A lawsuit filed in September 2024 by the owners of Battista's and Stage Door sought damages exceeding $50,000, citing significant financial losses attributed to the race and preparatory road work. The lawsuit was partially dismissed recently, preventing similar claims from being brought against race officials in the future. However, RDG LV, LLC, the landlord for Battista's and Stage Door, remains a plaintiff and continues to seek damages, asserting that the property's value was adversely affected by the race.

The resolution with Jay's Market came without a lawsuit, as they had claimed similar financial impacts. The settlements align with efforts by race officials to improve community relations, including a partnership with Ellis Island casino and a local 7-Eleven to enhance spectator experiences.

Despite these legal challenges, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority has approved a two-year extension for the race, extending its presence in the city through at least 2027, supported by a $20 million sponsorship.
