Experience the Perseid Meteor Shower at Lee Canyons Stars on the Summit Event

Lee Canyon, in collaboration with the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, is set to host "Stars on the Summit," an event offering a unique stargazing experience. Participants will take a ride on the Bluebird quad chairlift to an elevation of 9,370 feet for an enhanced view of the stars and the Perseid Meteor Shower, which peaks in mid-August.
The event will feature members of the astronomical society, who will be on hand to provide insights and guide guests through the night sky. Attendees can also use telescopes, astrophotography equipment, and other tools to explore celestial features.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 16, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Pre-registration is recommended, and reservations will soon be available online. The ticket prices are set at $35 for adults and $20 for children aged 7-12, while kids aged 6 and under can attend for free. A VIP package, including dinner, is available for $55. Part of the proceeds will support the Las Vegas Astronomical Society's educational initiatives.
Lee Canyon's location and elevation help minimize light pollution from Las Vegas, offering a darker sky and a cooler, comfortable environment for viewing the Perseid meteor shower. The event promises a memorable experience for both residents and visitors.
