Michael Mizrachi Clinches WSOP Main Event and Poker Hall of Fame Induction

Michael Mizrachi achieved a remarkable milestone in poker history by winning the $10,000 buy-in No-limit Hold'em World Championship at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event held at Horseshoe Las Vegas. The professional player from Hollywood, Florida, secured the $10 million first prize after defeating John Wasnock in heads-up play and surpassing a field of 9,735 entrants.
Mizrachi's victory in the Main Event completed an extraordinary double, having previously won his record fourth $50,000 buy-in Poker Players Championship. This achievement led to his immediate induction into the Poker Hall of Fame, bypassing the usual waiting period, as recognized by the 33 living members.
This win marks Mizrachi's eighth career WSOP bracelet, placing him in a tie for seventh place on the all-time wins list alongside England's Benny Glaser. His career earnings in live tournaments have now exceeded $29 million, according to the Hendon Mob Poker Database.
During the final table, Mizrachi was down to less than three big blinds but managed to recover and dominate the rest of the competition. He held a significant chip lead when the final table resumed with four players left. Mizrachi eliminated both Kenny Hallaert and Braxton Dunaway in the first two hands, setting up a heads-up match with Wasnock.
The crucial final hand saw Wasnock raising with ace-nine, and Mizrachi calling with ten-three of clubs. The turn gave Mizrachi a flush, and after a series of bets, he called Wasnock's all-in move. Although Wasnock still had outs, the river card did not improve his hand, securing Mizrachi's victory.
Mizrachi attributed his success to the strong support from his friends and family, stating that it played a significant role in his achievements.
