Cheap Trick Taking Indefinite Break From Touring; Upcoming Concerts Canceled

Cheap Trick will take an unspecified amount of time off from touring, according to a statement released after the band canceled several upcoming performances.

The announcement followed news from Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, where Cheap Trick had been scheduled to play in February. The venue posted on Facebook, saying, "Mama said there'd be days like this. Cheap Trick's scheduled performance at Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort has been canceled."

The band released a statement through the venue: "After many years of touring, and a much-needed break, Cheap Trick has decided to take an unspecified amount of time off, therefore this event has unfortunately been canceled. The good news is that no action is required to obtain a refund. It will be processed to the original method of payment used at time of purchase, once funds are received from the Event Organizer, which is usually completed within 30 days."

Thunder by the Bay Music & Motors Festival separately announced that Cheap Trick had canceled their appearance for February 2027. The festival stated, "While we are disappointed by this unexpected news, we respect the band's decision and wish them all the best."

Cheap Trick had previously announced 10 concerts for 2026 and several dates in 2027. UCR has not confirmed if any additional performances will be canceled or rescheduled.

Earlier this summer, the band also canceled or postponed a series of June shows, citing "circumstances beyond our control" without further explanation.

Further updates will be provided as more information is released.
