David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen to Reunite for TEDxFargo Conversation

FARGO, N.D. - Former Van Halen members David Lee Roth and Alex Van Halen will appear together at the TEDxFargo event Thursday, July 30, at Brewhalla in Fargo.

Organizers announced Alex Van Halen as a speaker several weeks ago. Roth's recent addition marks their first public appearance together since Van Halen's final concert on Oct. 4, 2015, at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.

Roth recently canceled all but one of his remaining 2026 tour dates. Alex Van Halen has largely stayed out of the public eye, making only a few appearances to promote his 2024 memoir, "Brothers."

Artist Robert Vargas, known for his mural of Eddie Van Halen at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, will join Roth and Van Halen onstage. Vargas, based in Los Angeles, is reportedly a close friend of Alex Van Halen.

Organizers say the event will not include a musical performance. Instead, it is billed as a conversation featuring "Three icons. One stage. One conversation you won't want to miss."

TEDxFargo will feature more than 40 speakers over two days, with talks, live performances, and networking opportunities. Tickets and more information are available online.

Talks, including the conversation with Roth and Van Halen, will be posted on YouTube in the coming weeks for those unable to attend in person.
