Lindsey Buckingham Reconnects with Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac for New Documentary and Future Pro

Lindsey Buckingham says reflecting on the past has helped him reconnect with his Fleetwood Mac bandmates, especially Stevie Nicks.

Speaking to E! News at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event in Los Angeles, Buckingham described work on an upcoming Fleetwood Mac documentary as "a very circular healing process for all of us."

"We had left things in 2019, maybe as far as I was concerned, not in a very good place for all the wrong reasons," Buckingham said, referencing the rift that led to his temporary departure from the band. "No one was happy about it, and all of that has been healed and worked out."

Buckingham acknowledged that his relationship with Nicks, often strained over the years, has changed. "Stevie and I are talking all the time now," he said.

Apple announced nearly two years ago that it would produce a documentary about Fleetwood Mac, directed by Frank Marshall. The film will feature rare insights from surviving members. No release date has been set, but it is expected in 2027.

Last year, Buckingham and Nicks re-released their 1973 album, "Buckingham Nicks," which reached No. 3 on the Top Album Sales chart in September. The collaboration followed years of tension, including Buckingham's dismissal from Fleetwood Mac in 2018. Nicks reportedly played a key role in that decision after Buckingham wanted to postpone the band's tour to focus on his solo work. The split came shortly after the pair disagreed over their appearance at the MusiCares Person of the Year gala.

Buckingham later sued the band, claiming he was dismissed without cause and lost millions in earnings. The dispute was settled in December 2018.

Looking ahead, Buckingham hinted at more projects with his bandmates. "Next year should be a pretty interesting year," he told E! News. "I think quite a few things will reveal themselves."
