Foo Fighters Announce 2026-27 Australia and New Zealand Tour

The Foo Fighters will return to Australia and New Zealand for a major stadium tour in late 2026 and early 2027, building on their recent sold-out appearance in Tasmania.

The band, led by Dave Grohl, announced Monday that they will launch the "Take Cover" tour Nov. 5, 2026, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The run will include stops in Townsville, Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and Adelaide, followed by shows in Christchurch and Auckland. The tour wraps Jan. 25, 2027, at HBF Park in Perth.

Foo Fighters' last visit to the region was a one-off show Jan. 24 at UTAS Stadium in Launceston, Tasmania, which drew a record crowd for the state. During the concert, Grohl told fans the band would return before his next birthday, Jan. 14. The announcement, made Feb. 18 by promoter Frontier Touring, fulfills that promise.

Grohl also hinted at new music during the Launceston show, telling the audience, "We might have a whole new record of songs that we just finished the other day." It is the first public indication that a follow-up to 2023's "But Here We Are" is in the works.

The tour will feature support from 16 rising acts, all selected by the Foo Fighters. Openers include Full Flower Moon Band, The Buoys, Last Quokka and others.

The nine-date run is notable for stops in Townsville, in northern Queensland, Newcastle, and Christchurch, New Zealand, where the Foo Fighters will play the newly built One New Zealand Stadium, scheduled to open in April 2026.

The band has visited Australia 15 times, most recently in late 2023 for a stadium tour supporting their eleventh studio album, "But Here We Are." According to commercial data, Foo Fighters have sold more than 1.8 million records in Australia, including nine No. 1 albums.

Tickets for the Australia and New Zealand tour go on sale Wednesday, Feb. 25.
