Journey May Extend Farewell Tour as Band Reconsiders Final Goodbye

Journey's farewell tour will continue beyond its original end date, according to band co-founder Neal Schon.

Schon updated fans on Facebook about the group's Final Frontier tour. He said performing 110 shows in 2026 has changed the band's outlook.

"After completing 110 shows in 2026, we've felt something powerful happen within Journey," Schon wrote. "Playing two and a half hours each night in our 'Evening with Journey' shows - the longest shows we've ever played - has brought us closer together, both musically and personally."

Schon credited fans for inspiring the band to extend the tour.

"Our fans have touched our hearts and helped pull us together," he wrote. "Your love, energy and passion for this music have reminded us how much we still share and how much this journey means to all of us."

Schon said the farewell tour is far from over.

"What began as 'The Final Frontier' now feels more like 'The Long Goodbye,'" he said. "We're letting our hearts - and the connection we feel with you every night - help guide what comes next."

He thanked fans for their support and posted a band graphic with the message: "It's not over."

Keyboardist Jonathan Cain shared a similar message in a recent interview with UCR. Cain said he originally planned to leave after the tour but now feels uncertain about his future with the group.

"When I started the tour I was definitely gonna hang it up, and I still don't know what I want to do moving forward," Cain said. "I'm overwhelmed with the turnout on this tour. It's so strong. The fans have just been terrific."

Journey's 2026 tour is set to end Nov. 28 in San Francisco. The band also has a performance scheduled for April 27, 2027, at the Stagecoach festival in Indio, California.
