Pink Floyd and Inter Milan Launch Limited Edition 'Wish You Were Here' Sportswear Collection

Pink Floyd is marking the 50th anniversary of its 1975 album "Wish You Were Here" with a new sportswear collaboration.

The British rock band has partnered with Italian soccer club Inter Milan and Sony Music Italy for a new Pink Floyd Football Club (PFFC) capsule collection. The PFFC was originally a friendly team founded by Pink Floyd members during the 1970s.

The limited-edition collection includes two exclusive items: an "anthem jacket," priced at $290.10, with only 400 numbered pieces available in special packaging, and a bundle featuring an original T-shirt and a blue vinyl record, limited to 1,908 copies and priced at $64.70. The Inter Milan team, nicknamed the Nerazzurri, will wear the anthem jacket before their match against Cagliari at San Siro Stadium on Friday, April 17. Additional merchandise includes retro PFFC jerseys, scarves, guitar picks, drumsticks, tote bags and other items.

The design of the collection is inspired by a 1970s photograph of the original PFFC squad, featuring band members David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Nick Mason, the late Richard Wright and others. The retro blue-and-white jersey includes "PFFC" lettering at the center, a 50th anniversary "Wish You Were Here" logo on the back adapted for the club, and sleeve details with the Inter Milan logo and Pink Floyd's burning man handshake symbol.

The merchandise is available online at the Inter Milan store and at Inter Stores in Milan, Castello and San Siro.

"Wish You Were Here" recently returned to the U.K. charts, reaching No. 1 during the 2023 Christmas season, nearly five decades after its initial release. A new digital and physical reissue of the album features previously unreleased alternate versions and demos of songs including "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and the title track. It was the band's second No. 1 album in 2023, following the re-release of "Pink Floyd at Pompeii - MCMLXXII," a live recording from 1971, which topped the charts in May.

"Wish You Were Here" is among eight tracks from 1971 to 1979 selected for "Pink Floyd 8-Tracks," a compilation album set for release on June 5. The compilation includes "Money," "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2," "Time," "Comfortably Numb" and a full version of "Pigs On The Wing," previously only available on the 1977 "Animals" 8-track cartridge.

Although Pink Floyd's music and merchandise remain popular, the band is no longer active. In a 2015 interview with Classic Rock magazine, Gilmour said, "I'm done with it," a year after the release of the group's final album, "The Endless River."
