Queen Unveils 4K Trailer for Budapest Concert Film 40th Anniversary Release

Queen released a new 100-second trailer in 4K for the 40th anniversary edition of its final concert film, "Queen: Budapest."

The film was recorded during the band's visit to Budapest in 1986. The event marked the first time a Western rock band staged a stadium concert behind the Iron Curtain.

"This is going to be the most real experience of us, Queen, in our glory days," guitarist Brian May said when the anniversary edition was announced. "I think people will get lost in it and even forget they're watching a film."

The trailer shows scenes on and off stage, captured on and around July 27, 1986. Peter Jackson's Park Road Post Production remastered the footage, originally shot with 17 cameras. The audio was also remastered from the original multitrack tapes.

"For years, fans behind the Iron Curtain could only listen to Queen on illegal cassettes," May said. "It was forbidden to listen to rock bands like us, so seeing us live was unthinkable."

"This concert, when they could finally see us live and interact, was a huge emotional moment for them and for us," May said. "You could feel the energy. There will never be an event quite like that again."
