Quiet Riot Names John Torra as New Lead Singer

Quiet Riot has named John Torra, 23, as the band's new lead vocalist. The band made the announcement after a public search for singers in North America for 2027 and beyond.

Torra, who fronts the New Jersey hair metal band Fire 'N Ice, is the eighth full-time singer in Quiet Riot's history and the sixth since the death of founding singer Kevin DuBrow in 2007. He gained attention after posting audition videos of himself performing Quiet Riot songs, which circulated widely among fans and musicians.

The band parted ways with Jizzy Pearl, 68, who sang for Quiet Riot from 2013 to 2016 and again from 2019 until this year. Jason McMaster performed with the band at shows on Aug. 29 and Sept. 5. Pearl's final performance was Sept. 18.

Regina Banali, Quiet Riot's manager and widow of longtime drummer Frankie Banali, said in a statement, "We saw your comments, tags and messages urging us to bring him on board. But what earned John the gig was his undeniable talent. His videos were outstanding - but when he stepped into the room with us, he blew the doors off our songs. Torra will make his debut with Quiet Riot on Oct. 1 in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma. The band has shows booked through November, with a South American tour set for April 2027.

Quiet Riot's current lineup includes Torra on vocals, Rudy Sarzo on bass, Alex Grossi on guitar, and Johnny Kelly on drums.
