Ramones 50th Anniversary Tribute Rocks Hollywood Forever with Star-Studded Lineup

LOS ANGELES (AP) - A tribute concert celebrating the Ramones' 50th anniversary drew a large crowd Sunday at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, where original bassist Dee Dee Ramone is buried. The show featured a supergroup called the Cretin Family, named after a song from the Ramones' 1995 album, " Adios Amigos!"

The Cretin Family included Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, CJ Ramone, Tim Armstrong of Rancid, Billy Idol, and Travis Barker of Blink-182. Several guests joined the group throughout the night.

The concert honored the Ramones' self-titled debut album, which was released in April 1976. A bronze statue of guitarist Johnny Ramone stands at the cemetery.

The set list featured Ramones classics such as "Rockaway Beach," "Sheena Is a Punk Rocker," and "Blitzkrieg Bop." The band also played covers of songs by Bobby Freeman, Motorhead, Joe Jones, The Trashmen, and Generation X.

Guest appearances included Fred Armisen on "Danny Says," Jason Freese on "Do You Remember Rock 'n' Roll Radio?" and The Linda Lindas on "California Sun" and "I Wanna Be Sedated." Billy Idol joined for "Beat on the Brat," "Ready Steady Go," and "Blitzkrieg Bop."
