Rod Stewart Finishes Utah Concert Seated After Nearly Fainting Onstage

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Rod Stewart nearly fainted onstage during a concert Friday at Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, prompting crew members to assist him in front of the audience.
The 81-year-old singer appeared visibly uncomfortable more than halfway through his set. He struggled to finish his 1981 hit "Young Turks." Crew members came from backstage and provided Stewart with an oxygen tank to help his breathing, according to video obtained by TMZ.
After regaining his composure, Stewart addressed the crowd. "The show must go on. I nearly fainted there. Would you mind if I sit down for this one?" he said.
Stewart performed the rest of the concert seated, including songs such as "Have I Told You Lately" and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy?" He returned for a single encore, "Love Train." The venue is about 4,300 feet above sea level, and the elevation may have played a role in the incident.
Stewart has faced health issues in recent months. In May, he canceled some Las Vegas residency dates and was placed on vocal rest due to a sinus infection. He later canceled another show in San Diego because of a sinus infection and laryngitis. Some fans expressed frustration after Stewart was seen attending a soccer match in Boston the next day.
Stewart is currently on his One Last Time tour, which is set to run throughout the summer.
