Toronto Orders Repairs to Rogers Stadium Before AC/DC Show

TORONTO - The City of Toronto has ordered Live Nation to repair Rogers Stadium after a storm caused major damage on Sept. 2, ahead of AC/DC's scheduled concert on Sept. 16.

The storm tore apart sections of the bleachers and led to a partial collapse of the grandstand. City inspectors assessed the damage on Sept. 3 and issued a seven-part order for repairs required before the venue can reopen, according to Global News.

Live Nation must limit access to the site, hire an engineer, submit a plan for repairs, secure a building permit and meet safety requirements before reopening the venue to the public. The company must submit its repair proposal by Sept. 8.

A Live Nation spokesperson said, "The inspection, assessment and remediation of structures affected by significant weather events, like a red-level storm of this nature, is a standard process, and we remain engaged with the City as that work continues."

AC/DC has not commented on the situation. As of Tuesday, no postponement or cancellation has been announced. The Toronto concert is set to be the third-to-last show of the band's Power Up tour, which began July 11 and includes stops in Charlotte, Denver, Las Vegas and Atlanta.
