BlueBird Simulations Details Extensive 757 Feature List Ahead of Q3 Release


BlueBird Simulations has released its most comprehensive look yet at the systems, avionics and immersive features planned for its highly anticipated Boeing 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.




The developer says its goal is to create an aircraft in which individual systems do more than simply switch on and off. Electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, environmental and flight-control systems are being designed to interact dynamically, allowing failures or configuration changes to affect other parts of the aircraft.




Hundreds of Circuit Breakers



BlueBird has mapped more than 500 circuit breakers to their corresponding electrical buses. More than 200 are expected to be fully functional when the aircraft launches, with approximately 300 additional breakers planned for future updates.




The environmental control system will also respond to changing conditions rather than relying on fixed values. Passenger count, open doors, outside weather, wind and air-conditioning pack configuration will all influence cabin temperature.




Cabin pressurization will include two automatic modes and one manual mode, with the system following separate schedules for ground operations, takeoff, climb, cruise, descent and landing.




Custom Pegasus FMC and Autopilot



The 757 will feature a custom-built Pegasus flight management computer and autopilot system. BlueBird says the autoflight system has been developed around the aircraft's three Flight Control Computers and will account for real-world control laws, aircraft inertia and electrohydraulic servo response.




Planned navigation capabilities include:





  • Custom LNAV and VNAV




  • RNAV procedure support




  • Holding patterns




  • Missed approaches and go-arounds




  • Autoland functionality




  • Automatic trim behavior




  • SimBrief flight-plan integration




  • Navigraph performance uplinks





External CDU hardware will be supported through MobiFlight. Hoppie ACARS integration is also planned, including departure clearance and air-to-air messaging capabilities.




An Interactive Cabin and Ground Crew



BlueBird is also developing a communication system connecting the flight deck with cabin attendants and ground personnel.




The cabin will be divided into three flight-attendant zones. Crew members may contact the flight deck with operational requests, cabin-temperature concerns or reminders concerning the seatbelt signs during descent.




Cabin attendants will also react to emergency conditions, including passenger oxygen-mask deployment and excessive cabin altitude.




The aircraft's ground-call system will interact with SimBrief flight plans and boarding information from the Electronic Flight Bag. This will allow ground personnel to respond appropriately when connecting or removing external power and completing other turnaround tasks.




RB211 and PW2000 Engine Options



Both major 757 engine families will be represented, with models of the Rolls-Royce RB211-535E and Pratt & Whitney PW2000 planned for the aircraft.




Each engine will receive its own performance characteristics, Electronic Engine Control logic and windmilling behavior. This should provide more than a cosmetic difference when pilots switch between the two powerplant options.




Sound is another major focus. BlueBird reports that more than 450 cockpit audio samples have been recorded, along with hundreds of additional cabin and exterior sounds.




The audio environment will respond dynamically to operating conditions and the listener's position. Generator frequency can subtly change the pitch of cockpit electronics, while engine sounds will vary depending on airspeed and where the pilot or passenger is seated.




Electronic Flight Bag



The included Electronic Flight Bag will serve as the central interface for aircraft configuration, maintenance and ground services.




Pilots will be able to load several aircraft presets, including Cold and Dark, Turnaround, Ready for Taxi and Cruise. The EFB will also provide live synoptic pages for monitoring electrical, fuel, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.




Additional EFB functions will include:





  • Weight and balance management




  • Center-of-gravity calculations




  • Fuel loading




  • Catering and ground-service controls




  • Progressive pushback




  • Brake temperature monitoring




  • RAM Air Turbine status




  • Interactive system diagrams





Release Window and Price Confirmed



BlueBird Simulations says the 757 remains on schedule for release during the third quarter of 2026. The aircraft will be priced at $80 USD.




The project will include both the Boeing 757-200 and 757-300, with the developer describing it as a high-fidelity simulation built from source data and reviewed by real-world 757 pilots.




No specific launch date has been announced, but BlueBird says its next development update will take a closer look at the custom FMC and include new video previews.
