DSD Simulations Releases Vortex SC for Microsoft Flight Simulator

Orbx has announced the release of the Vortex SC from DSD Simulations, a purpose-built aerobatic aircraft now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Developed in collaboration with champion aerobatic pilot Melanie Astles, the Vortex SC is designed for virtual pilots seeking an authentic unlimited aerobatic experience. The aircraft features a highly refined flight model, detailed systems, extensive customization options and a custom sound package created by Echo 19 Audio Productions.

Pilots can configure the aircraft to match their preferred flying style. Available options include removable action cameras, wheel spats, aerials and an optional glass floor. Users can also choose between three-blade and four-blade propeller configurations.

Inside the cockpit, the Vortex SC offers a choice between a traditional analog instrument panel and a modern digital avionics suite. This provides flexibility for pilots who prefer classic aerobatic instrumentation or a more contemporary cockpit environment.

The aircraft also includes a realistic aerobatic smoke system, making it well suited for airshows, formation flying and online multiplayer events. Its visual configurations and special effects are designed to remain compatible during multiplayer sessions.

For those who enjoy exploring the mechanical side of an aircraft, the Vortex SC includes removable engine cowlings with a fully modeled engine underneath. A total of 28 authentic liveries are included with the package.
