Flight attendants fail breathalyzer before flight

In a recent incident at Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport, two Delta Air Lines flight attendants were removed from duty after failing random breathalyzer tests before a scheduled flight to New York's JFK Airport. One attendant registered a blood alcohol content (BAC) of 0.143-seven times the Netherlands' legal limit of 0.02 for flight crews-resulting in a fine of $1,900. The other had a BAC of 0.024 and was fined $290. Despite their removal, the flight departed on time.

The Netherlands enforces strict regulations, prohibiting flight crews from consuming alcohol within 10 hours of duty. Delta Air Lines reiterated its zero-tolerance alcohol policy, emphasizing that such violations are unacceptable.
