iniBuilds TriStar Airliner Trailer Turns Heads for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

Classic widebody fans, this one's got some serious retro jet magic.

iniBuilds has officially dropped the trailer for its upcoming TriStar Airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, giving simmers a closer look at one of the most iconic three-engine airliners ever to grace the skies. Microsoft's own announcement says the video highlights the aircraft's unique tri-jet design, classic cockpit systems, and operations across a variety of airports and weather conditions, while confirming the aircraft is "coming soon" to MSFS 2024.

And from what we're seeing so far, this isn't just a nostalgia trip with fancy lighting. iniBuilds has been building the TriStar with a deep focus on realism, including a high-fidelity flight model, fully simulated Direct Lift Control, and a sophisticated Automatic Flight Control System with CAT IIIB autoland capability. The developer also says the cockpit includes the Captain, First Officer, and full Flight Engineer stations, recreated with period-authentic detail and a weathered, in-service look rather than a showroom shine.

The visuals appear to be just as ambitious as the systems. iniBuilds says the TriStar features realistic control surface behavior, flap and spoiler logic, dynamic wing flex, visible engine vibration, and environmental lighting tuned for both day and night operations. Liveries planned for release include operators such as Delta, British Airways, Pan Am, United, Air Transat, LTU, and more, giving sim pilots plenty of options for reliving the glory days of long-haul flying.

There's also a little extra spice in the package. iniBuilds has confirmed the aircraft will include a POD variant, which brings visual changes along with different handling and operational limitations. That means simmers looking for something a little less ordinary will have another layer of challenge waiting in the flight deck.

As for release timing, iniBuilds said earlier this month that the TriStar is scheduled to launch later in March 2026 and that, at release, it will be available exclusively through the Microsoft Flight Simulator in-game Marketplace, with an iniManager version planned for later.

For longtime aviation fans, the TriStar is one of those aircraft that carries a larger-than-life reputation. Sleek, sophisticated, and unmistakably from an era when airliners had swagger, it remains a favorite among enthusiasts. If the trailer is any indication, iniBuilds looks ready to bring that personality into the sim with plenty of depth behind the beauty shots.

Bottom line: the TriStar isn't just arriving, it's making an entrance.
