iniBuilds Unveils Chicago O'Hare Trailer for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

iniBuilds has released the official trailer for its upcoming recreation of Chicago O'Hare International Airport, giving Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 pilots their most detailed look yet at one of the world's most recognizable aviation hubs.

The two-minute trailer showcases the airport's terminals, passenger areas, ramps, taxiways and nighttime lighting while confirming that the scenery is expected to be released this week. A specific release date and price had not been announced at the time of publication.

One of iniBuilds' Most Ambitious Airports

iniBuilds first revealed its Chicago O'Hare project in June, describing it as one of the company's most ambitious scenery developments to date.

The airport has been created specifically for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with the development team focusing on detailed modeling, updated textures, terminal interiors, airport infrastructure and optimization for the newer simulator platform.

O'Hare's enormous size makes it a particularly challenging airport to recreate. The real airport contains multiple terminals, sprawling cargo and maintenance areas, a complex network of taxiways and enough pavement to make a virtual airport-development team quietly reconsider its career choices.

The new trailer shows aircraft operating around detailed ramp areas, service equipment moving throughout the airport and interiors visible inside several terminal buildings.

New Multiple-Jetway Technology Takes Center Stage

One of the most notable features shown in the trailer is iniBuilds' new multiple-jetway system.

The technology allows more than one passenger boarding bridge to connect to a compatible aircraft simultaneously, making widebody gate operations more realistic. The trailer includes footage of an Ethiopian Airlines Airbus A350 connected to two jetways at the same time.

iniBuilds previously explained that the system is built directly into compatible airport packages and does not require third-party software. It is expected to work with aircraft that support the simulator's default jetway system, with future support planned across additional iniBuilds airports.

Chicago O'Hare will be one of the first iniBuilds airports to introduce the technology.

For pilots flying large aircraft such as the Airbus A350, Boeing 777 or the upcoming iniBuilds A380, the system should provide a more convincing gate experience than watching an entire double-deck aircraft attempt to board through one lonely jetway.

Built for Heavy Airline Operations

Chicago O'Hare is a major destination for domestic, international and cargo operations, making it a natural fit for flight simmers who enjoy flying airline schedules.

The airport is especially attractive for virtual pilots operating United Airlines and American Airlines routes, while its international terminals provide opportunities for long-haul services from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.

O'Hare's multiple runways and dense traffic environment also make it a popular destination during online network events on VATSIM and other multiplayer platforms.

The new scenery should offer pilots everything from short regional flights to transcontinental and intercontinental operations, all centered around one of the most complicated pieces of concrete in North America.

A Fast Trip from Announcement to Release

iniBuilds revealed the O'Hare project publicly in June, meaning the scenery appears to be moving from announcement to release in roughly five weeks.

The short promotional period suggests the airport was already well into development before its first public preview.

The latest trailer follows a series of preview images released earlier in July that highlighted terminal modeling, ramp details and the overall scale of the project.

Coming This Week

iniBuilds says Chicago O'Hare International Airport is scheduled to arrive for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 this week.

Pricing, installation size and detailed system requirements have not yet been confirmed publicly. Additional information is expected when the airport becomes available through the iniBuilds Store and iniManager.

With detailed terminals, extensive airside modeling and the debut of iniBuilds' multiple-jetway technology, Chicago O'Hare could become an important new destination for MSFS 2024 airline pilots.

Sky Blue Radio will continue following the release and will provide updated pricing and availability information once the airport officially opens its virtual gates.
