Major League Baseball umpires will reportedly begin checking pitchers for foreign substances on Monday, according to ESPN's Jesse Rogers. Pitchers will be inspected between innings and/or after they come out of the game. They could also be checked if they're demonstrating suspicious behavior, Rogers adds.
Umpires will check gloves, hats and belts of pitchers, but can look elsewhere if they suspect a player has a foreign substance located elsewhere. If a pitcher is found to be using a foreign substance, they'll be thrown out of the game and suspended for 10 days.
