John Mayer Returns With New Music After Five Years and Announces Las Vegas Residency

John Mayer is officially back with new music, and fans have plenty to be excited about!

After five years without a new solo single, the seven-time Grammy Award winner has released "Tom and Jerry," marking his first new solo music since his 2021 album Sob Rock.

The new track has an interesting story behind it. Mayer originally recorded the idea as a simple voice memo on his phone, saving it under the name "Tom and Jerry." What started as a temporary working title eventually became the official name of the song as he developed it alongside producer Blake Slatkin.

But new music isn't the only big development in Mayer's career!

The singer-songwriter has also launched his own record label, Sob Rock Records, in partnership with Mercury Records. The move represents an exciting new chapter for Mayer, giving him a fresh platform for future releases.

And for fans hoping to see him perform live, there's even more good news.

Mayer is preparing for a 21-show residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas in 2027. The venue is known for its immersive visuals and cutting-edge concert technology, making it an exciting setting for Mayer's signature guitar performances and fan-favorite hits.

With new music, a new record label, and a major Las Vegas residency on the horizon, 2027 is shaping up to be a big year for John Mayer.

From "Your Body Is a Wonderland" and "Daughters" to "Gravity," "Waiting on the World to Change," and "New Light," Mayer has built a catalog of songs that continues to connect with listeners.
