Peace, As many of you know, 2013 was a great year for Yen Dollar Music, with my work attaining critical acclaim for both LPs I released (YAMIN and Senior Dues), as well as making connections that would carry over into 2014. I turned 30 years old in February, and on the night of my birthday, I was happy to hear that my songs were getting spun on The Wake Up Show by DJ Revolution (shout out Sway, Tech and Skyy Hook) in accord with being named one of the top 50 active indie artists via AllHipHop.com. Now we enter 2015, and with 2014 complete (with no releases all year), I've still retained that position within 75 slots. There are probably 10s of 1000s of people attempting to successfully express themselves through this artform, and it is with humble earnest that I accept the recognition as an artist in which you can invest your time and money! I'd like to mention Sa-Roc and J-Live are within this lineup as well, two featured artists on the Senior Dues record and true masters in their own right! Greetings! It's about to be the end of the year...well, it IS the end of the year and I love that we have been doing good work throughout and finishing strong. Tomorrow evening, I'll be between Space 2 (Sound Table) and Georgia Tech's own WREK sharing musical goodness in both arenas. First, I set things off at a silent auction/fundraiser for Grady Health Foundation put together by Heart, Beats, & Hip-Hop (IG: @heartbeatsandhiphop) at 483 Edgewood Ave, SE, spinning a variety of tunes with my brother DJ Loweki. Before the night is through, for all those who can't make it, I will also be on air at WREK from 9-11pm for the legendary program Wrekroom Renaissance feat. A.Dot and the homies! Hello folks! I'd like to invite you all to check out my brother-from-another-mother's new project entitled Past Due. Between rehearsing and touring like crazy with Difference Machine, I've seen this project take shape over time and I am pleased to see his growth as a musician. On this project, you'll hear 808 kits and crunchy 12-bit breaks. You'll hear oscillated samples, as well as detuned synths, arpeggiators and filters. It is anything but typical.
