Love: The Language

Why so mad? Why so fed up with mistakes in relationships? Walk with me for a minute. Lets go under the hood. We all have one body, and one heart (hopefully). Ok knowing that let's look at the other factors. We all will NEVER know what TRUE love is until a) your in it or b) you have kids. Knowing That, I guess we can say true love is foreign, you know, like a foreign language. You have to learn to speak it. Fluently. We don't come out of the "cooch" speaking fluently do we? Therefore, love is something you have to learn, practice, understand, and teach thru knowledge of what you know. Will you say words wrong in other languages? Yup, sometimes. You might even hurt or offend the person because of your lack of the "correct" words at that time. But you don't give up on that convo and walk away do you? Also, we only get one body. (Ladies/Men) think about mileage. Diseases. Having a "I ain't putting up with the BS" attitude all the time, (sometimes you may have to have it though) and giving up, heightens your chances of failure. How can you give up on the "love" language when you cant speak fluent love either? They have a Rosetta Stone for the love language too you know.

"I rap" or "can you help me get on?" Is the most heard phrases if you do ANYTHING in the music business. I've been in the biz for about fifteen odd years now and I hate to hear it? Why? Because my next question to them is , "are you registered?" And their answer, 99% of the time is , "um, no." Artist, take your time. Become familiar with companies like ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, HARRY FOX. Of course I'm not going to spend my well earned high/buzz typing to explain it in this blog, because if you are an up/coming artist, songwriter your are gonna take time out and google, call, or visit one of those companies I referenced in this blog. The END Word: Nigger or Nigga

"Nigga" yeah that's is. That's the word. Or is it? To me the word "nigger" is definitely offensive, but the new spelling and saying "nigga" to me is a celebration of progress,, I've watched movies, talked to ancestors, and seen clips of the weight and destruction the old word USE to carry. Nowadays it's used by ALL races, to, get this, describe a friend or brother of sorts. Crazy right? Yes. Crazy and amazing. I'm able to see white kids hollerin' at they nigga. The weight is GONE! Now if only I can get my brothers to STOP with the selective approval passes of who can say it and fully dissolve the old word, we can be on to something.

The "Verse" that's what we can call it. The Verse. New artist Kendrick Lamar showed the world what innovation is simply by reminding everyone of what a true artist in the genre of Hip-Hop everyday job is, and that is to DESTROY ALL COMPETITION! But this generation, just like talking to my daughter, doesn't have a clue of what innovation, creativity, or just plain hunger is. It took one artist to say to his peers that they are bs'n and it may change a slumping genre for the better. What do you think
