Rapper Twista Bodyguard Found Dead?

Rapper Twista is grieving the loss of a close friend who often did security work for him. Davy Easterling aka "6-9" was found shot to death and burned inside of his South Side Chicago home after he went missing for three days. Davy Easterling aka "6-9" Easterling was found in an apartment about 6 a.m. Friday in the 8300 block of South Baker Avenue. That same day, Twista had put out messages on Twitter and Instagram, saying that Easterling, who acted as a bodyguard for Twista and who he described as "A close friend of mine," had been missing for three days. Twista took to his social media accounts to publicly grieve the loss of his friend and to share his frustration with the senseless deaths of friends he lost to the streets. #RIP Davy Easterling aka 6'9 I have lost too many good friends to these streets. Chicago police are still investigating Davy's death. No arrests or suspects have been identified at this time. Our condolences to Twista and the Easterling family. Scoop

John Singleton has signed on to rewrite, direct and produce the highly anticipated biopic of late rapper Tupac Shakur. Singleton is currently working on a draft of the screenplay and looking towards a summer start date. The question of who will play Shakur is still up in the air but Singleton, who worked with the rapper on the film Poetic Justice, has personal ties to the project. "Tupac was a guy who I planned to do a lifetime of films with," said Singleton. "His passing deeply affected my life as well as countless people in this world. His life story is important to my generation." [HollywoodReporter] With Singleton's involvement, the long-stalled project gets a second life. Morgan Creek is financing in collaboration with Randall Emmett and George Furla's Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films. He will begin working on a draft of the screenplay immediately, with an eye toward a summer start date. With Singleton's involvement, the long-stalled project is getting a second life. Antoine Fuqua was attached to the project before falling off. Singleton also was loosely onboard as recently as two years ago, but his deal never closed, and he turned his attentions to the Taylor Lautner starrer Abduction. The question now turns to who will play Shakur. Anthony Mackie played the slain rap star in the 2009 film Notorious about rival rapper Notorious B.I.G. Lil' Kim's got a bun in the oven! The petite rapper made a grand entrance at The Blonds fashion show during New York Fashion Week last night as she debuted a burgeoning baby bump. During her performance at the fashion house's after-party, Kim, 39, reportedly told the crowd, "I'm a mom, but I can turn it up a little!" Decked in a body-con dress that accentuated her bump, Kim told Us Weekly, "I'm so excited! I'm a few months along, I can't wait to be a mom!" But don't expect the Queen Bee to let pregnancy slow her down. "The baby has made me even more of a beast!" she added. Kim is keeping the identity of her baby's father under wraps.Congrats!!! Singer Rihanna is known for making grand purchases, but back in 2009, Rihanna almost found herself in the middle of a bankruptcy case thanks to her ex-accountant. Rih Rih filed a lawsuit against the accountant for gross mismanagement and new legal documents reveal exactly how much money Rihanna lost due to the money manager's terrible fiscal decisions. According to the legal documents, Rihanna's former accountant mismanaged her money so bad that she blew through nine million dollars in 2009 and claims to have had no idea. At the beginning of 2009, the Bajan pop star had $11 million in cash and by December of the same year, she only had two million left. Needless to say, Rihanna was absolutely shocked that she blew through that much money in a year. On top of mismanaging millions of Rihanna's money, her accountant failed to tell her that her expenses had doubled in that year so she was seemingly left hung out to dry. In case you're wondering how the "Diamonds" singer squandered nine million dollars, Rihanna says her accountant told her it was okay for her to purchase a house valued at seven and a half million. She bought the house and when she sold it, she lost two million in profits. As if the mansion debacle weren't enough, Rihanna also claims her 2009 tour "Last Girl on Earth" was losing money left and right and was never notified. Although Rihanna was done wrong by her accountant, don't feel bad for her bank account because since 2009, she has built her fortune to the amount of $43 million. Why Today In Black History? In our words: As with all aspects of American history, Black history is an indispensible key to understanding the nation's past, present, and future. Unfortunately, much of this history began with the hundreds of thousands of Africans who reached the United States as slaves between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries. With such an abhorrent beginning, the freedom and other achievements eventually earned by African Americans cannot be simply disregarded. With each new advancement or right gained by African Americans, a new obstacle or restriction followed. The tumultuous beginnings of Black history in the United States, along with the truly admirable perseverance of those who withstood it all are strong parts of the growth of the nation as a whole. A thorough grasp of Black history also gives great insight to the present state of the Black race, as well as its overall impact on America. Without understanding how things came to be, it is difficult to make much sense of the current situation or to form solutions to current issues concerning African Americans. Four young girls attending Sunday school-Denise McNair, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson, and Addie Mae Collins, aged 11 to 14-were killed when a bomb exploded at the church. Twenty others were injured. The church was a center for civil rights meetings, and just a few days earlier, courts had ordered the desegregation of Birmingham's schools. Bobby Frank Cherry, a demolitions expert, and three other white supremacists-Robert Chambliss, Thomas Blanton, and Herman Cash-were under investigation within days of the bombing. But two years later, FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover declined to pursue the case, saying the chances for conviction were "remote." In 1968, federal authorities shut down the investigation. In the 1970s, after a U.S. Justice Department investigation revealed that former FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had blocked evidence, Jefferson County, Ala., prosecutors reopened the case. More than a decade-and-a-half after the crime, the ringleader, Robert Chambliss, was convicted of one count of murder in the death of Carol McNair in 1977. He died in prison in 1985 without ever publicly admitting a role in the bombing. By this time, it was too late to try suspect Herman Cash, who had died in 1994. The remaining two suspects in the case, Thomas Blanton and Bobby Frank Cherry, were finally indicted in 2000-more than two decades after Chambliss's conviction-when an FBI agent in Birmingham obtained more than 9,000 FBI documents and surveillance tapes that had been kept from the original prosecutors. Blanton was convicted of murder in 2001 and sentenced to life in prison. In Cherry's trial, several of his relatives came forward to testify against him. Cherry had bragged to a number of them over the years about the bombing. In 2002, he was convicted of four counts of murder and sentenced to life in prison, where he died in 2004. One of the prosecutors in the case, Robert Posey, said Cherry "has worn this crime like a badge of honor." The "Love Sharpener" was designed by John Lee Love of Fall River, Massachusetts. John Lee Love - Improved Pencil Sharpener John Lee Love's invention was a very simple and portable pencil sharpener. The same kind of pencil sharpener that many artists use or that can be found in an office or school room. In John Lee Love's invention the pencil is put into the opening of the sharpener and rotated by hand. It was designed so that the shavings would stay inside the sharpener. It is interesting to note that while the patent drawing depicts the Love Sharpener as being quite plain. John Lee Love wrote that it could also be designed in a very ornate fashion and that his pencil sharpener could also be used as a desk ornament or paperweight. Johm Lee Love's pencil sharpener was patented on November 23, 1897 (U.S. Patent # 594,114). John Lee Love - Improved Plasterer's Hawk Four years earlier, John Lee Love created and patented his first invention an improved plasterer's hawk. A plasterer's hawk is a flat square piece of board made of wood or metal, upon which plaster or mortar was placed and then spread by plasterers or masons. Love felt that other plasterer's hawks were too bulky to be portable so he designed one with a detachable handle and a foldable board all made from aluminum. John Lee Love's improved plasterer's hawk was patented on July 9, 1895 (U.S. Patent # 542,419). Michael Strahan Inducted Into NFL Hall of Fame

Former New York Giant defensive end and current daytime talk show host Michael Strahan was inducted into the NFL's Hall of Fame this weekend. He was one of seven former athletes selected for induction including Derrick Brooks, Andre Reed, Walter Jones, Aeneas Williams, Ray Guy and Claude Humphrey. Strahan's no stranger to big honors. He holds the record for the most sacks in a single season. [Washington Post] Strahan had a record 22-1/2 sacks in 2001 and totaled 141-1/2 sacks in 15 seasons with the Giants.
