Carver 32 Creekside 29 The Carver Panthers pulled off their biggest win of the season, knocking off defending state champion Creekside under the lights at Lakewood. Carver 25 Tri-Cities 20 The Carver Panthers used 2 special teams scores and a stout defense to overcome mistakes as they defeated Tri-Cities 25-20 for homecoming in the Atlanta Football Insider game of the week. Streetz 94.5 player of the game, Bryce Wilson returned a block field goal early in the fourth quarter to break a 13-13 tie to put the Panthers up for good. The win sets an epic showdown this friday at Lakewood as they take in defending state champions Creekside. Grady 23 Lithonia 17 After a late arrival to the game due to the intense traffic of Music Midtown, the Grey Knights of Grady defeated Lithonia on friday at Panthersville. The win pushed Grady to 3-1 with their only loss coming in a 4 point contest to Carver. Grady looks to extend their winning streak to 3 next week against St. Pius on Saturday. Jackson 0 Blessed Trinity 42 The Jackson Jaguars ran into a buzz saw on friday as they dropped to 2-2 on the season after a loss to Blessed Trinity 42-0. Jackson will look to get back tom their high powered winning ways next week on the road at Cedar Grove. Mays 27 Southwest Dekalb 8 Behind a stout defense and a 60 yard pick six interception return by Streetz 94.5 player of the Game Ferlando Jordan, Mays defeated Southwest Dekalb 27-8 in the Atlanta Football Insider Game of the week on Saturday at the Georgia Dome. Senior standout, and Georgia commit, Natrez Patrick contributed 3 sacks in a excellent performance by the defense. Charlie Patrick led the balanced rushing attack with 62 yards on the ground and an early touchdown to put Mays up 7-0. Mays now looks to their next game on Saturday vs Lovejoy at Lakewood. North Atlanta 0 Riverwood 55 The North Atlanta Warriors had a tough time on the road friday night falling to Rivwerwood 55-0. Turnovers spelled the demise fro North Atlanta as they threw and interception, lost 3 fumbles and had a punt blocked in the loss. On the defensive side of the ball the Warriors gave up 7 touchdowns rushing. The Warriors will look to rebound on friday at Grady stadium against Sprayberry. Therrell 33 South Atlanta 20 Therrell's defensive explosion in the second half blew open a game that was a back and forth close battle up to halftime. Ty Collins started the defensive momentum paring an interception with a fumble recovery. By the time Dexter Brown blocked a punt and scooped and scored the game was pretty much out of reach. The Knights opened the scoring with a fumble return by Nigel Walton, but it was all Panthers after that. The Panthers were paced by power running from Charlie Patrick, timely passing by Jordan Holden and a stout defense. Patrick sealed the game in the 4th with a an impressive 50 yard run that broke the Knights back. Grady looks to rebound next week at home against Lithonia in a game that will determine playoff seeding. B.E.S.T. 20, Rockmart 0 The B.E.S.T. Eagles improved to 5-4 last night with their 20-0 win over Rockmart. Junior Deshawn Waller was again the offensive star taking his first carry for 80 yards and the score to open the game. The Eagles led 7-0 at the half but would have been up by an even wider margin had 2 of Waller's touchdown runs not been called back by penalties.
