Back in 2012, former MadTV cast members Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele teamed up for a new sketch show on Comedy Central bearing their names. While it took a bit of time for the duo’s endlessly creative, unpredictable style of sketch comedy to take off with the masses, Key & Peele ultimately proved to be a huge success, to the point that a vocal outcry was heard when it was announced that season 5 would be the show’s last. Some fans were disappointed that Sony and Marvel Studios didn’t mix up the ethnicity of Spider-Man when they cast Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker. While Holland was incredibly well received in his Captain America: Civil War debut, fans of diversity had hoped that perhaps he could have been cast along the lines of the comic books’ new Spider-Man, the half black/half Latino Miles Morales. While it doesn’t sound like Miles will be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe anytime soon, he is currently rumored to be the star of Sony’s Animated Spider-Man project. The most recent new episode of Larry David’s oft-brilliant, semi-improvised comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm aired on HBO in September of 2011, almost five years ago. The passage of time, along with much of the cast moving on to other things, makes it easy to think of Curb as a show that went off the air a long time ago. But officially, it isn’t. But, the project moved forward last fall with the announcement that Sandra Bullock would star in the film, with Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, The Free State of Jones) directing, Olivia Milch writing and possibly George Clooney involved in some capacity, too.
