From #TheGovernorsDeskThe Slingshot #SSTakeover took place at Marietta Indian Motorcycle just outside of the greater Metro Atlanta area located not far from the big chicken and Dobbs Air Force Base right off of 285 in Cobb County Georgia. Their new line up a slingshot is a new on the road driving and riding experience. The open-air cockpit of the sling shots hit you with a 360 Degrees of sight sound and smell with side by sides seating. Both driver and passenger experience a front-row view and adrenaline rush.Now my experience of this weekend I've seen such a beautiful and phenomenal piece of well crafted version of a motorcycle done for pure adventure and excitement. To add on to the collection of bikes that do exist, the slingshot, bring something different to the table for the simple fact that it is a side-by-side ride and not a front and back ride. Besides they eating in the drinking, which I have to say that Marietta Indian Motorcycle is known for the best hangout place in Marietta on a Saturday. Per the owners, they do keep food drink some margaritas on Deck please believe that!The true experience was to see the collective of different people from all walks of life have a slingshot. It's not just geared to one particular group of people. The slingshot is for everybody. Now for the governor, the most exciting time of the entire event, was when underground audio (undergroundaudio.com) showed up and showed out. Their slingshot kitted out and custom made with speakers all over the outside for the public to hear. Also Undergroundaudio.com came in and shut the spot down. In which, they are known for coming and shutting places down. Underground audio has a beautiful white well-crafted slingshot with great audio sound that will blow your mind. Overall the event was very organized and well-planned. Big Shots out to the Bentley for inviting us out. I appreciate the whole ordeal and I really enjoyed myself! If you don't have a slingshot and you like toys this is a toy for a man or a woman. It's just for those who love toys and that's a wrap from the governor's desk.DCW Photography As a photographer for KIG Entertainment, I had no idea what to expect when I drove up to the event on. I've seen the 3-wheeled vehicles before, but never knew they were called "Slingshots". I must say, this event was the most exciting, fun, and well thought out event for an auto show I've ever been to. The owners were so friendly and outgoing. I had no problem getting photos from the proud slingshot and motorcycle owners parading around in their prized vehicles. The music was hot, the food was delicious and the interaction with the people was infectious! You guys get 5 STARS from me. DC Brother PresI went to an affair on Cobb pkwy called the slingshot takeover, and was very a family oriented. As I moved around and looked at the various bikes I noticed these white and pink shirts with the letters KIG. I decided I would sit back and see what this was all about. I noticed a beautiful and vibrant young lady that had her pulse moving through the crowd. I was impressed by how she made people feel at ease and open up to her only. I ventured inside to get some food and a drink and noticed their table with a green screen, impressive. So I begin to talk to her comrades as to what this KIG thing was all about, after a good 30 minutes I was sold I wanted to be part of this family. I felt a spirit of peace and love throughout her and the crew and they were about business. He was not wearing shoes or a jacket.The Judge accepted Simms' plea, but then went on to determine that she was NOT Criminally Responsible for her Son's death.Basing his decision on the expert opinions of three different doctors, who had ALL concluded that Simms suffered from a mental disorder.Schizophrenia - which prevented her from understanding what she was doing at the time of the crime.After issuing his ruling in the case , the judge also determined that Simms is NOT a Danger to Herself or to Others, and She was Released on the condition that she maintains her MENTAL Health treatments.If she doesn't, Simms will be placed into a hospital facility or a Mental Health Institute, the state's attorney said.Tasha Simms, the child's grandmother, told FOX 5 getting consistent help for her daughter was difficult to come by. She said mental health assistance was difficult to retain for her daughter and her case was essentially falling through the cracks.Prosecutors in her daughter's court case claim Romechia did not remain vigilant in her own mental health treatment and Ji'Aire's death was preventable.But a judge ruled in Romechia's favor taking into account her history of mental illness.Tasha Simms is trying to move forward focusing on what she can do in light of Ji'Aire's death."He is not going to be forgotten," she said. "That is my goal in life. I want to make sure this doesn't happen to another family, to another child, to another one who is suffering in the darkness alone through a mental Illness."Tasha is now taking her fight to the Maryland General Assembly. She is pushing what she calls Ji'Aire's Law." It is currently up for discussion in a house committee. That news was that Cooper had been released from jail where he had been serving time since assaulting Rowling in August."From what I understand from other inmates in the jail with him that was his word, he was going to kill her," said the womens grandmother.The August incident was not Cooper's (the ex boyfriend) first time assaulting the slaned women.In 2012, he served a year in jail for stabbing her in the neck; he was released and then he assaulted her again.The slaned women testified on Cooper's (the ex boyfriend) behalf in the 2012 incident, so he received probation. In a court appearance Cooper was released again after the now slaned women allegedly refused to testify against him."We often move forward with charges even when victims are not cooperative, hoping that if they see us standing up for them, they will stand up for themselves," said Kelly, who had pushed for prison time in both incidents. "The victim in this case actually testified in favor of the defendant."The ex boyfriend who had been on the run in a Black SUV that was later found abandoned, turned himself in to Saint Louis police and was being held on $200,000 bond.At the time he wasn't charged but was being held on a probation violation."We want to question him about the stabbing death of Michelle Rowling," St. Louis Police Chief said.A candlelight vigil was held on that Sunday night for Rowling."I don't know which way to turn," said her mother .Rowling's cousin, said that Cooper was always "quiet" around their family. CHATTANOOGA, TN - A 26-year-old Chattanooga mother is the city's 15th murder victim. Bianca Horton was expected to testify against the man accused of shooting her daughter, Zoey, in 2015. Police say Horton's death was gang-related, but it's not clear if her plans to testify played a role.Friends say Bianca Horton loved nothing more than her four children. Now they are demanding answers as to why the 26 year-old was not being protected as she prepared to testify in a 2015 fatal shooting case.Bianca Horton's friends sort through a box of children's clothing, summer clothing she purchased for her four children just before her death. Horton loved her kids. "Took her kids places, she was always out. You see her you would see them," said a friend.Friends are too scared to show their faces or share their names, after the mother of four was shot and killed. They tell Channel 3 the last time they saw Horton was that Tuesday evening.Her car keys and purse were found in the parking lot of her apartment complex. Her car was still parked outside. Friends believe someone attacked her when she was walking into her apartment after work."We've brought out every possible resource and partner out here to try and find who may be involved in this," said Chattanooga Police Chief.Horton's body was found five miles from her home on Elder Street. She was set to testify against Cortez Sims, the man accused of shooting her daughter in a 2015 home invasion.Friends don't understand why she wasn't receiving protection from police or prosecutors."Less than two, or three weeks away. They should have been protecting her. Even if she didn't ask," said a friend."There is no such thing as Witness Protection Program for local crimes. There is confusion about that," said police.Friends believe Horton's death is connected to the trial."It's their job to do it. Since they didn't do it, they need to pay for her funeral," said a friend.Friends wait for answers and hope Horton's children will be cared for now that she's gone."I just hope her kids, whoever gets them, takes care of them, and don't miss treat them."If a victim requests protection, police will add their address to a watch list, increase patrols, or add surveillance to a neighborhood. Many stood outside crying and hugging one another."My heart has been ripped out," said the males mother, "We will celebrate him for the rest of our lives."Prosecutor said the couple were found dead near Haqq's vehicle. Each had been shot twice, each once in the head, he said.Based on the crime scene and witness statements, the couple were approached by three carjackers - a man and two women - after they parked, but that an anti-theft device prevented the car from being easily moved,the carjackers left the scene in a gold Pontiac Grand Am. The male victim who had attended the New Jersey Institute of Technology, left the school before graduation for a job involving computer software, He worked as a software engineer in Jersey City.The female victim who has ties to the Trenton area, graduated from the College of New Jersey. She was an associate producer for an affiliate of Nickelodeon in New York,The couple had met through Greek life at their colleges, and their fraternity brothers and sorority sisters had a strong presence at the celebrations that Saturday night the male was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, and the female of Alpha Kappa Alpha.Friends, who described the couple as popular, positive people without enemies, said they were stunned anyone would harm them.
