ASAP Rocky Confirms J Cole Collab Amidst Ongoing Drake Beef

ASAP Rocky is pulling out all the stops on his new album. He's been working on it since last decade, and the list of collaborators he's lined up is absurd. Don't Be Dumb is slated to have production from the likes of Madlib, Pharrell, and The Alchemist, just to name a few. Slick Rick (!) and Rihanna have been rumored as potential features. DJ Kast One dropped by Hot 97 on July 26 to hype up the album. He claimed that another superstar will be featured on the album: J Cole. DJ Kast One told Hot 97 he already heard Don't Be Dumb. He also claimed that he heard a standout verse from Dreamville's finest. "I heard J Cole," he stated. "I heard songs being played." The untitled, technically confirmed song will be the first collab between the rappers in over a decade. ASAP Rocky dropped a guest verse alongside Cole on the "TKO" remix from 2013. Justin Timberlake's single also featured bars from Pusha T, in what now amounts to a nightmare blunt rotation for Drake. ASAP Rocky has been against Drake throughout 2024's rap civil war. He dissed Drake on Future's "Show of Hands," and has stated he plans to do so again on Don't Be Dumb. J Cole, on the other hand, is a former Drake ally. The rapper was on "First Person Shooter" with Drake, and his line about the "Big 3" started the whole mess. Cole was on Drake's side until the "7 Minute Drill" debacle. The Dreamville star apologized for dissing Kendrick Lamar and then seemingly changed sides. He appeared on the same Future and Metro Boomin album in which Rocky dissed Drake. To make matters worse for the 6 God, ASAP Rocky plans to diss him again on Don't Be Dumb. During the same Hot 97 preview, DJ Kast One confirmed that the rapper will be firing back at Drake over the bars he dropped on "Family Matters." Evidently, J Cole had made the full transformation to being anti-Drake. Recently, Cardi B decided to close out a studio session with some late-night chicken wings, which unfortunately left a lot to be desired. She took to social media to reveal that she had tried Popeyes' honey lemon pepper flavor, but it wasn't at all what she expected. She rated the flavor a measly two out of ten. According to her, they tasted like Sprite and were far more sweet than she would have liked. Fortunately, it looks like Popeyes took Cardi's criticism in stride. Earlier today, the chicken chain's official X account invited her to their test kitchen in hopes of collaborating on some new wing flavors. The 6ix God threw shots at Rocky on the songs "Push Ups" and "Family Matters," and even made reference to Rocky's relationship with Rihanna. It's been radio silence since those songs dropped, but it won't be for much longer. DJ Kast One went on Hot 97 to hype ASAP Rocky's upcoming album, Don't Be Dumb. He assured fans that it will be worth the wait. He also claimed that Rocky is going to fire back at Drake with a few disses of his own. DDG and Cash Cobain are two artists who are pretty hit and miss. For the Pontiac, Michigan rapper, if he has a winning chorus or flow, the track tends to be solid. For the New York-bred producer, if he presents an addicting melody or an interesting drum pattern, the beat can be so good that it carries a song. However, neither is the case on this latest single from DDG, "copy my drip". What we get from both stars is a pretty run of the mill trap beat with an uninteresting guitar loop and some painfully boring and awkward bars. "F*** with me, I'll f*** 'round and I'll f*** your b**** / He ain't do his research, he ain't know I'm lit / Plain black T-shirt with no logo, he ain't know this Rick / Huh, I'm like, "Where your ho go?" His "Did It First" collaborator was asked about it in a Rolling Stone interview to which she replied, "We've been friends since 'Munch' came out, honestly... we're just twins...". While that is one less headache to worry about, it appears that he is still without a lover. Ultimately, it will be up to Argy if she wants to take him back after all of the confusion he involved her with. It might be why Central Cee is dropping "gen z luv" right now. This is supposedly the second single for his rumored LP, CAN'T RUSH GREATNESS, with the first one being "BAND4BAND" with Lil Baby. On this record, Cee is wanting to tell his future how mommy and daddy met. It seems that he feels this generation's way of finding that special someone is the best and only reliable method. Out of all of the hyped-up album releases for hip-hop in 2024, A$AP Rocky's DON'T BE DUMB is very high on a lot of people's lists. There was some hope that it would come last year but if we're being honest, people have been waiting on some sort of project from him for years. Of course, the last full-length studio project we got was 2018's Testing. But it seems that fans of his are finally going to get their hands on it soon, as Rocky announced it was going to be out on August 30 via a short teaser trailer. There has been some info in regard to the producers that are going to be on it, but not so much in terms of the rappers and singers. That is until yesterday when A$AP Rocky previewed a snippet that sees him working alongside his dear friend, Tyler, The Creator. According to NFR Podcast, the New Yorker gave attendees at his DON'T BE DUMB listening party some sneak peeks of the album. This one seems to be making all the noise right now, as you can audibly hear Tyler in the clip below. From what it sounds like, the production appears to be pretty atmospheric, a signature of Rocky's aesthetic. If this album and song see a release, it would be the longtime duo's first in just about a year. HoneyKomb Brazy Accepts Plea Deal In Federal Gun Case

In December of 2023, HoneyKomb Brazy and two associates were pulled over by police in Alabama, and soon after charged with possession of a firearm. Reportedly, upon searching the vehicle, officers found a Girson MC28 SA 9mm pistol and a Smith and Wesson MP 15 AR pistol. One of the rapper's associates, bodyguard Miguel Hall, pleaded guilty to the federal gun charge in May of this year. At the time, Brazy appeared ready to go to trial to fight the case. Now, according to new legal documents obtained by XXL, HoneyKomb Brazy has pleaded guilty as well. Reportedly, this is part of a plea deal that also saw both the defense and prosecutors recommend a sentence of between two-and-a-half and three-and-a-half years behind bars. He's scheduled to appear in court on October 25, where Judge Kristi DuBose will hand him his sentence. Reportedly, he was previously prohibited from owning a firearm due to a past protection from abuse order. Aside from a hefty prison sentence, Hall could also be looking at a $250K fine and three years of supervised release. Per his plea deal, the prosecution will not bring any additional charges against him and will recommend a shorter sentence. The news comes after it was revealed last January that authorities had been monitoring Brazy on social media. This was due to the fact that he was a "subject of multiple investigations for years." Fans are criticizing French Montana for getting close to Donald Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara Trump. Lara is married to Trump's son Eric and, like the rest of the Trump family, has been criticized for her views. One issue the Trump family feels particularly strongly about is immigration. Montana is Moroccan from a Muslim household, immigrating to the United States with his family when he was 13. He was not a full US citizen until 2018, at the age of 34. French Montana took to Instagram to post a photo and a video of him and Lara Trump in the studio together. Trump is also the co-chair of the Republican National Committee. She delivered a speech at the Republican National Convention earlier this month, giving an unsurprising endorsement of her father-in-law's reelection campaign. Fans criticized Montana for the move, believing it directly contradicts his own history as an immigrant. "Project 2025 literally says they want to ban Muslims and send all the immigrants back to their homeland, so good luck with that," said one of the top replies to Montana's post. If you want to be able to succeed and live a fulfilling life, you are going to need a hardworking mindset. That is something that Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Big Sean and DJ Premier certainly have, as all four music titans land on one track called "Ya Don't Stop". This is the latter's newest release, and it follows-up "Gonna Be Me (the friendship song)" with O.A.R. and Brady Watt most recently. However, it also comes after collaborations with Chance the Rapper, Nas, Snoop Dogg and Daz Dillinger, as well as Russ. With so many big-time voices and just three minutes of run time, how does it all come together? In our opinion, DJ Premier has another successful offering here with "Ya Don't Stop". Leading up to it's release, some fans were pointing out that Ross and Wayne were going to be on this record. This would not even be a subplot a few years ago. However, with Drake being is Rozay's crosshairs and Weezy mostly being okay with The Boy (maybe?), things are different. Thankfully, the chemistry is solid all around. Big Sean ties everything up nicely with his catchy hook that centers the song's focus on grinding to live lavishly. Wayne probably has the best performance of everyone, as he continues to shred his feature appearances lately. Charles Barkley Issues Strong Statement On TNT Losing NBA Broadcasting Rights

The NBA recently announced plans to sign a new TV rights contract with Amazon as part of their media rights negotiations. This means that TNT will be the network losing their rights to broadcast games, which they've held since 1989. Charles Barkley, co-star of the award-winning Inside The NBA, shared a statement regarding the NBA's media rights negotiations with TNT. He made his disappointment in how things went very clear. "Clearly, the NBA has wanted to break up with us from the beginning. I'm not sure TNT ever had a chance. TNT matched the money, but the league knows Amazon and these tech companies are the only ones willing to pay for the rights when they double in the future. The NBA didn't want to piss them off," said Barkley in his statement, shared by Bleacher Report. "It's a sad day when owners and commissioners choose money over the fans," he added. Barkley has often stressed that the worst aspect of Warner Bros. Discovery (TNT's parent company) losing its NBA rights is that it immediately puts many people out of work. He, like many fans, believes it's unfair for people to suffer because of two multi-billion dollar businesses fighting each other. Charles Barkley told The Athletic that he hoped TNT decided not to pursue a lawsuit. "If you have to sue somebody to stay in a relationship, do you think that is a healthy relationship?" Barkley also previously announced that he intended to retire from television at the end of the 2024-25 season. He has been on the air since 2000, joining TNT after retiring from a Hall of Fame basketball career. However, he sounded less committed to those original comments when his money came into question. Barkley, who is in the third year of a 10-year contract worth $210 million, could become a free agent if Warner Bros. Discovery fails to honor the full terms of his deal. "TNT Sports has to come to me ASAP and they have to guarantee my whole thing or they can offer me a pay cut, which there is no chance of that happening and I'll be [a] free agent," Barkley told The Athletic. She appeared to be going through it at the time, telling interviewers "F*** love" when asked about her favorite love song and declaring that she was single. A few weeks later, Druski was asked about the split at the BET Awards. He opted not to say much. During a recent appearance on the Big Tigger Morning Show, however, the comedian finally opened up about the breakup. "Yeah, I'm single, man," he revealed. "God blesses you sometimes with situations. It's a learning situation. That's what it's all about." Druski continued, explaining that he simply may not have been ready for the relationship and all that it came with.
