Respect The DJ

Dear Party Goers & DJ's, I hereby challenge you all to open your minds, to let go of the song that you have been listening to 30 times a day and accept that you may or may not hear it tonight. Open your minds and understand other perspectives of music and someone else's interpretation of selection and order. Be on the cutting edge again and dance, dance, dance. You can dance right? Open your minds to new/old music and let your dancing feet be free!!! Stop giving the DJ crap!!! Brother and Sister DJ's, I challenge you to say no to the crowd when they push you to play a particular song. Work with them yes, but remember you are not a jukebox, don't let them expect you to be. If you allow the crowd to select your songs, your dance floor may end up being just a floor. Remember you are a DJ and remember what that means.

What's up everyone and thank you for downloading my app. This bit of information is from questions that I've been asked by you - friends, family and of course the fans aka supporters. Without further delay - Let The Rhythm Hit'em!!! What is the job of the DJ? The job of the DJ is to set the mood so that the guests at the event will enjoy themselves. Granted the goal is to please everyone, but we know that there is always one - lol What made you want to DJ? Hmmm, it started back in the 4th or 5th grade. I stayed at my Grandmothers house and my Uncle Mickey had all of these albums and stereo system. On Friday and or Saturday nights, the party was on!! I had to stay in the bedroom, but that didn't stop me from listening to the music and how it made the party goers feel. So, I would get home from school and start playing my uncles records. He had all of the party type records (Sugarhill Gang, Kurtis Blow, Cameo etc.). Then I would go home and play my Dad's records. He had the doo wop stuff - you know love making music - lol. SO I learned the music and my love for it and how it made people feel drove me. The love of music is something else. Why DJ Danny? Well, D-Nice was taken lol. So, I started calling myself DJ Notorious, but I found that corporations weren't eager to hire me. As soon as I decided to just go by DJ Danny - I started getting Corporate exposure. Where does your slogan "Let The Rhythm Hit'em" come from and why you chose it? The slogan - Wow!! It comes from one of my favorite hip-hop artists Rakim. He has that as the title of his album and a song off of it. I chose it because I wanted to shout out Rakim and also it speaks to the craft vs dance floor. Meaning the rhythm is going to hit you and you will tap the table with your hand, pat your feet, but eventually you will have an appointment with the dance floor. How long do you plan on Dj'ing? Until I can't lift a speaker - lol!!! That's what I tell everyone. Where do you see music as it pertains to Rap/Hiphop? Music is designed to change. When we were coming up our parents called it noise, junk, jumpjump music right? So now, because of the inevitable change - we are now the parents. A friend once told me that Music is from the heavens. So with that being said it will live forever - no matter the format. What type of music do you play? It all depends on the event crowd. It's best to learn as many genres of music as you can. I learned that after my first Corporate event. Even though the company continued to use my services, I left a very small amount unsatisfied because I didn't have their kind of music. Yes, they danced to some of the stuff I was playing, but to some it's nothing like your own. Club or Cabaret Style? DJ'ing at clubs is cool, but I just love DJ'ing where the people can touch you. It's more of a personal connection in my opinion. How do I become a DJ? To become a DJ you MUST have a passion for music. It is that passion and drive for music to carry you through the learning process. This will ultimately get you gigs with a bunch of practice of course.
