Shereé Whitfield was raised, in Shaker Heights, OH, a distinctive, upscale suburb just outside of Cleveland. The City of Shaker has a national reputation for its striking architecture and natural beauty. Raised by a single mother of two, perhaps the bright eyed native was blessed with an eye for style and a sense of grace from the beginning due to her admirable surroundings. Many people have come to know Shereé Whitfield as a scintillating socialite and entrepreneur, but Shereé is much more than a pretty face and incredible physique in a dynamic outfit. She is also a wonderful mom of three beautiful kids who keep her schedule very busy.
As millions of viewers watched the Bravo network’s show "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" America has learned, that this diva is building a name for herself as a designer and is fervently committed to serving her family and community. The spicy fashionista discovered her sense of style at a young age, describing herself as a “fashion forward†pre-teen who wore everything from Gloria Vanderbilt to Calvin Klein and Jordache. “Even in middle school, I was very brand and quality conscious…wearing the high-end jeans,†says Shereé Whitfield, owner and designer of the She by Shereé line.
While her effortless style and uncanny ability to make even the simplest combination of clothing and accessories appear ready for the runway, over the years, Shereé Whitfield developed a luxurious palette for clothes, shoes, purses and jewelry! Shereé Whitfield then became inspired to embark upon her first passion project; Bella Azul, an upscale boutique in Atlanta.
Ms. Whitfield hoped that the ultra trendy Bella Azul would be the first home of She by Shereé, but found that with runni ng the boutique, which carried the chic likes of Catherine Malandrino, Peter Som, Luca Luca and beyond, the budding style star had little time to dedicate to her own launch. So after nearly five years of dressing some of the most demanding style seekers, Shereé Whitfield closed shop to focus on completing She by Shereé, which will be in top-tier domestic and international boutiques in Fall, 2009.
Recently cast from a pool of many for "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" this darling diva of the South not only embodies the glitz and glam of the fashion world, but juggles a hectic home life, busy social calendar, producing a workout DVD for divas and a strong desire to create a philanthropic and program intensive foundation that addresses the growing problem of obesity among children and young adults.
“I am passionate about a few things; lifestyle and fitness are definitely among them,†states Shereé Whitfield. She is also extremely passionate about social change. “I would love to open a facility for young people to encourage them to uplift their lives and be healthy. I want to help improve their diet and nutrition and boost their confidence. I want to show them how to make lifestyle improvements."
In addition to youth obesity and healthy living, Shereé Whitfield is also involved with other causes, such as family issues facing single mothers. She is a proud, pristine woman poised to make a difference in her community and in the world of fashion minds of Bravo’s viewing audience, as well as making it clear that “housewife†is a term that is dynamic and inclusive.
“Housewives are not just women who sit at home. We have demanding careers, we manage our households, we’re balancing motherhood, personal relationships and starring in reality TV shows!†Shereé Whitfield asserts. “You can still do all of that, have fun, be sexy, and well respected!â€
