Free Hiphop Album - While You Were Sleeping

The Bulawayo based hip-hop trio
known as the Art Department has
dropped a bomb on Zim Hip-hop
again and this time it's in the form
of an album titled While You Were
Sleeping. The concept clearly
indicates that they were putting in
work while their ccompetition was
asleep and this is from a broad
perspective. The meaning is beyond
just the music. Download it below

DOWNLOAD via Mediafire For Free

They have been awake even in
scoring deals and other personal
projects. Navy Seal joined Tone
Lakeside and Robbie ill-sicker
though the project had begun as
Navy Seal and the art department.
They worked with Alaina in August of
2014 to produce ride with us which
had a low budget video shot by
Ernest Mackina and Irvene Chimanga
(Boss Boi Designs). The video
brought them to audiences they
didn't otherwise have and was
distributed across mobile phones via
whatsapp messenger. The song is
also still in rotation across radio
Bang was the next record to hit
radio after Ride With Us. I
personally like Ride With Us more
but bang did capture its own crowd
and further proved the versatility of
the Zim "gangsta" rappers. The three
have managed to be convincing
though some sections of Hip-hop
believe it's make belief. They say
they do this for the love and
Bulawayo is indeed infested with a
high number of muggings and
criminal incidents. Rappers around
them like Black Butterfly are doing
time for murder and the struggle is
real in Northend. Their lyrics
however do not glorify murder, rape
and struggle but it is indicated.
They also celebrate the success of
rising above those obstacles. Like
when Navy Seal talks about his
family problems and his mother's
illness in "Dreams of A Man". Those
are actual events happening in real
time and the album manages to
capture those real moments in a way
that relates to most peoples struggle
with life. So that when you get to
the braggadocio parts of each song
you appreciate that it is a
celebration of overcoming all those
things a young black Zimbabwean
from a middle class suburb faces in
So while you were sleeping they
were plotting to take over and this
album is the musical representation
of what they are expressing in other
ways in the real world. It is also an
anthology that stands for everyone
who dedicates hours at night to be

What is the underlying concept or theme of the songs? Or what inspired them

Fighting Demons- NEW Video

Fighting Demons- NEW Video

Check this video out or follow the link Via This Link

This is a love poem about an experience the author had with a certain love of his life at one point in time. It is written in rhyming verses.

The main objective was never lovers being at war,

In fact you're still the witty pretty girl I saw,

But I treated you like dirt when you loved me more,

Then I tried to be nice when you loved no more,

You told me you can never trust but I do understand,

For the death of our love I see blood on my hands,

Hurt spread inside her body like bacterial strands,

It was kind of too late to be making amends,

She says she won't talk to me because I made her cry,

Maybe she'll listen to my songs soon after I die,

Then she'll know as I lived I repented and tried,

I knelt on the gravel and looked to the sky,

She never believed me, I understand why,

The love I expressed to her at first was a lie,

Now I bet she can't seem to trust other guys,

I pray she forgives me, consistently rise,

I bleed deep inside with no tears in my eyes,

If we never talk on Earth but see Paradise,

I'll be glad to meet you and it won't happen twice,

What I did in the beginning was not really nice,

Now I understand the meaning of a true sacrifice,

The importance of love, now I do realize,

That this life is a journey if we ever arrive,

Put aside all the torture that I gave you alive.

Kidd Active's Birthday Album Launch Is Banging

Reporting directly from the Basement in Harare and I can confirm that G Records artist Kidd Active has successfully dropped a bomb called Tamba.

Kidd Active is a dope performer and artist. What he has here is a banger I tell you. Big shots doing it big.

The gig has been amazing, with various G Records affilliated artists rocking the stage. Krimz as DJ and Mariachi as the MC and (emcee). Meyniak, Maz, Sharky and Savage murdered the stage but I can say Myke Pimps ndakabatwa was amazing. It became an anthem and got an encore.

They got a lot of support from Zimhiphop. I loved the show. Full write up Monday on my site

The Source Code To Happyness & Success

Over the past century we have.learnt that human beings have the ability to do anything they want to if they focus mental energy upon it.

Thoughts are indeed prayers that get manifested in reality over time. They are like the source code to the program of life. What you think about has the ability to manifest each tome you execute that thought.

To be happy and successful therefore we always want put the success source code that guarantees that and the best source code ever written lies in Jesus Christ; The Bible.

Go out and get a Bible today, read it and pray for guidance. Seek God's Kingdom first and all else shall follow

New Young African Hip-hop Artist - The Slayer

New Young African Hip-hop Artist - The Slayer

The Slayer is an African based independent hip-hop artist who started rapping at 14. He grew up in Zimbabwe and was inspired by local group, Major Players and internationally by gangsta rap artist 50 Cent. He has done one mixtape called Genesis Vol.1 whose tracks are available on a soundcloud account click here to get the music.

The Slayer is an indendent artist who works with his colleague Raheem King Tonhodzai. Both artists are now South Africa based because of work commitments. They push their music on their own through social media and independent artist blogs. They also burn and print a few CD's to carry around and sell the traditional way as they say it is a strategy that works in South Africa. The Slayer revealed that Raheem supported him with morale and financially through-out what he calls The Green Gang Project. He has also worked with The Crowne Prince and Kid, who happen to be his personal friends.

"I just think my music is for the people in the streets hustling and trying to make a living and am a lil bit trying also to make my music reach the whole Africa ,that's my target, " he said, when we asked him about his target market. This in my opinion will require a lot of hard work, both on the music production side and knowledge of industry. So I challenge The Slayer to keep pushing and be part of all forms of workshops in his area that better his craft and his management skills.
While he's at it, do take time to visit Green gang Project hulkshare and download their music. If you like what you hear, like and re-share. Comment on the music on the site itself.
