Simply stated: Elijah J was made for the stage!Born Elijah Rhea Johnson on June 24, 1998 in Detroit, Michigan, the young man affectionately known as "EJ" has been described as a mix of a young Will Smith, Usher and Michael Jackson. Ironically, Elijah grew up idolizing Jackson and while still in grade school was invited to perform Jackson 5 mini-concerts all across the country. His undeniable talent and natural showmanship lead to his next big break when at the age of 9, he was selected out of a pool of 8,000 kids to play Young Simba in Disney's smash Broadway musical, The Lion King. Elijah went on to star in the Las Vegas production, the national touring production, and even for a short time, the prestigious New York City Broadway production of the popular play. To this day, Elijah is still the only child actor to play Young Simba in all three productions. When he was 13, Elijah was again chosen out of thousands of kids during a nationwide audition to be one of five lead singers in popular Kidz Bop compilations. During his 3 plus years with Kidz Bop, EJ performed on four Billboard Top 5 albums, three national tours, and took part in a number of nationally televised commercials. The year 2013 was a big one for Elijah on two fronts as it saw him earn his first movie role in Writer/Director Hugh Schulze's award-winning drama, Cass, and he joined the popular R&B boy band, Mindless Behavior, as their new lead singer. The group was singed to two major labels (Interscope/Epic) and on his 18th birthday, the group released their album #OfficialMBmusic on ADA Warner Bros. Powered by 3 popular music videos, the album climbed the charts and eventually settled at number 4 on Billboard's top R&B album list. After Mindless Behavior permanently disbanded in 2017, Elijah turned his attention back to acting and took on the lead role in Studio 11 films' soon to be released action-drama, Misguided Behavior. Not only does Elijah star in the film as "Kevin", but he also got to flex other creative muscles and actually got behind the camera to help shoot scenes for the film. In addition to Misguided Behavior, Elijah just began pre-production on another Studio 11 drama entitled Masters that is set to be released in late 2018/early 2019.Far from ready to put his singing career on hold, Elijah is gearing up for the release of his debut solo EP, I am Elijah J. The concept album, written, co-produced, and mixed by Elijah, helps illustrate the emotional rollercoaster that is young love after the honeymoon phase is over. Listeners are taken on the journey of his struggles as he tries to carry the weight and responsibilities of a relationship plagued with constant fighting, accusations of infidelity, unwanted opinions from outsiders, and the occasional ego trip. The hypnotic mid-tempo first single, Release, features a guest verse by rapper Koi and figures to undoubtedly rock the sound systems of cars and clubs alike across the country all summer.Only the future knows what else is in store for Elijah J. The sky is truly the limit for the multi-talented entertainer. One thing is for sure : he will continue to give his heart and soul to the crafts that he loves and has been doing all his life.

In a hip-hop world saturated with average masters of ceremony, a breath of fresh air is a rapper who takes his production and pen as seriously as he does his entrepreneurship. That new breeze is 100% independent artist and Still Movin' CEO Dizzy Wright. With a sure- re hit single ready to brighten spring 2018 along with a new EP, European tour and thriving Cannabis business on the horizon, Wright is poisoned to simultaneously diversify, solidify and raise his brand to new heights. What you receive as a Dizzy Wright fan is authenticity and consistency. His rhyme content is as giving as his myriad of flows. Regardless of times and trends, his identity never wavers. Since his first mixtape The Takeover (2010), he's remained that carefree, marijuana smoking, scribe with the advanced digital acumen. Before Twi er's popularity and Instagram's existence, Dizzy built an ini al audience with personality and Myspace. The fruits of his online engagement were reaped with a 106 & Park "Wild Out Wednesday (W.O.W)" win in 2010--followed by the release of the 2011 mixtape Soul Searching' Next Level--and being voted onto XXL's coveted Freshman cover via the "People's Choice" vote. It is no surprise that today his social media following stands well over one million. Having amassed a strong and organic fan base with a workhorse's body of work-- five studio albums, four EPs, a litany of mixtapes, all earning him tour invites from artists like Logic, Kid Ink and collaborations with pop stars like Wyclef Jean--is what keeps Dizzy committed to his independence. He is self-made. His young career has zero room for any major label's a empt to alter or dilute his formula. Born in Flint, Michigan, Dizzy watched his mom, whom he credits for introducing him to the music business, try her hand at numerous occupations within the industry (concert promoter, manager etc.). This led to his family constantly moving, even living a couple months in a homeless shelter. Although raised primarily in Las Vegas, he spent significant me on both American coasts, a contributor to the rapper's vibrant, borderless sound. That signature sunny sonic is brought to life by an entrusted collec tive of producers that includes DJ Hoppa, Roc N' Mayne, and Reezy. The la er is the beat chef behind Dizzy's latest single "Vibe," a rolling winner tailor-made for DJ sets and bottle service sections. "Vibe" will usher in Dizzy's fifth EP "Don't Tell Me It Can't Be Done." The seven-track opus features guest appearances from the likes of Logic, Kid Ink and others. It will also grant the self-proclaimed touring artist a first time opportunity to headline his own European run. Continuing his 2018 states tour, titled Golden State of Mind (named a er his 2013 mixtape The Golden Age, 2014 EP State of Mind and their 2017 sequels--both studio albums), Wright will gift over 10 European a live show mixed with equal parts in mate engagement and explosive energy. For years, his intoxicating performances has turned fans into repeat customers. Off stage, the young owner spent the previous few years satisfying a different crowd. Investing time and coin into his personal passion, Dizzy produced his own hybrid-strain of marijuana, Dizzy OG. In 2015, it won second place at the High Times' Cannabis Cup. DW was also instrumental in the legalization of weed in Las Vegas, where he intends to supply more strain flavors. As if a new album and herbal venture isn't enough, the Still Movin' boss will also launch an apparel line and open a retail store and studio, both named a er his record label. Dizzy Wright is a shining example of how good music, firm brand identity and major hustle can mine independence into a black-owned empire. Most of us couldn't even imagine going blind. Out of all of our five senses, perhaps the gift of sight is the most treasured of them all. While most of us would barely be able to muster up the strength to live in a world full of darkness, many extraordinary people like Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musicians Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder turned their setbacks into milestones in music history. In the same way that these exceptional individuals won the hearts of fans from the grassroots "chitlin" circuit to superstardom and beyond, Baltimore-born, Virginia-raised blind rapper NovaCain is on the fast track following in their same footsteps via his own promotions/ management company NovaCain, LLC.Within three short years as a solo artist, he has garnered almost two million online streams of runaway singles "Snapchat Party" and "I Should Have Went to College." And with his latest single "Swag Killin' Everything," NovaCain officially makes his intentions known in the music business."The core of my brand is the blind culture and the blind community. I'm representing that community with my voice," he explains. "Some of the things I was able to do being blind is crazy...Blindness was the best route for me. It saved me and so many other people around me."For 20-something-year-old Mario Nelson, going blind at the age of 17 was the least of his worries. The first 13 years of his life were nothing but constant physical abuse from his mother. The product of incest rape, his mom took the pain of being sexually assaulted by her own brother out on her offspring."As a kid, I was confused. I didn't really understand what was going on. I was like 'what did I do?'" he recalls. "It was confusing, challenging and emotionally draining. But it toughened the hell out of me. And I ended up being really aggressive towards people."The abuse came to a head when Cain was 13. He came into the house, and his mother thought that he was high and tried to hit him with the first thing she got her hands on. Unlike any of the other beatings, the youngster ended up taking the object from her. "I told her 'look, I'm too old for this. This ain't gone happen anymore.'"The next thing he knew, young Mario was placed in a group home in Norfolk and spent the next five years being shuffled across the state from group home to group home. During those years, he was considered a hellion and willing to go toe to toe with anybody at the drop of a hat. To calm his nerves, the group home staff pumped his body full of lithium. Little did anyone know, he had the trait for a neurological disorder known as Leber's."That gene got activated because the group home was giving me enough lithium to knock out a horse," he remembers. "It triggered that Leber's gene and that's how I lost my sight."But losing his sight was nothing compared to the torture he had already endured as a kid. "I went through physical abuse with my moms, going to group homes and having to defend myself," NovaCain expounds. "I really became this aggressive person. It toughened my skin all the way around. So when I went blind, it didn't really bother me. I had already been through so much in my lifetime until I was like what the hell is blindness? What is this?"Around the same time, his stepfather succumbed to diabetes, making Nova even more determined to be strong. "I didn't want to let my stepdad down for what he went through. He gave us a real father. He made some mistakes but he gave me the morals that I have today," says NovaCain. "If it wasn't for him, I'd probably be 10 times more evil. Seeing him raise six kids that weren't his, going through diabetes, being in a wheelchair and not breaking, that's where I get the strength and how I'm able to do what I do blind."It wasn't until losing his sight and his role model he could ever see himself with a successful rap career. He had always dabbled in freestyling as a kid, and after enduring such tragedies, NovaCain spent more time with music. But it wasn't until he learned to actually write his rhymes would he take it seriously."I conform my mind to look at a notepad. I'm looking at a notebook in my head," he explains. "I had to figure out a way to make music because being blind wasn't going to break me. I'm going to still be the same person I was before."At 22, his mother died. Still suffering from yet another loss, Nova formed a group with his brother called Paranormal Gang. By this time, they both had migrated to Evansville, Indiana. After putting out several mixtapes, singles and an EP, they made quite a regional stir. But after a few years, however, they broke up and went their separate ways.NovaCain never gave up on his music. He reinvented himself and reappeared as a solo artist with 2015 mixtape Jukebox. The locals ate it up like crazy. Keeping the fans satisfied, he spent the next couple of years pumping out a string of hot singles, including regional runaways "Snapchat Party" and "I Should Have Went to College," collectively garnering almost two millions spins online. And now, his latest single "Swag Killin' Everything" has garnered over half a million streams. What's even more amazing, however, is that he has done it all with clean, non-vulgar music."I do clean rap. All my music is clean, but I'm not a gospel rapper or a conscious rapper," NovaCain explains. "I just keep the roots of hip hop alive. I do club songs and stripper songs that don't have one disrespectful word. The music is so goo
