WHAAT'S GOOD PEOPLE!!!
Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the good life!! Something I have noticed as a DJ for many years, evrybody has groupies!! Of course Famous DJs like Kid Capri, Funk Flex, etc. have obvious groupies who we've seen at events trying to get in the DJ Booth to "GET WIT" their celeb crush. But even the local DJs have groupies too. Now some DJs use the power of their position as a tool to get as much AFTER PARTY P**** (insert proper word here! [O.P.P. get it]) as possible, having a choice from the fans who are probably tipsy and want to say "THEY KNOW THE DJ" and make sure that they have his attention for the whole night. This is true for a lot of younger DJs who enjoy the attention and benefits of being the person who controls the flow of the night and the vibe of the club. This control is attractive to some and can work as the ice breaker for a quick hook-up. Now these random "BOOTY BASHES" can be detrimental to a DJ, because if one of these "ACQUAINTANCES" catches feelings or feels that they now have special privileges when they come to the parties and will cause problems. (PLAY MY SONG, GET MY FRIENDS IN FREE, etc) More seasoned DJs have been through this and THEY ARE NOT FOR THE BS!! Professional DJs will keep it just that, PROFESSIONAL!! Yes they will speak to you, Yes they may play your request (If it fits) and Yes they may even take a Selfie with you BUT THAT'S IT!! No they don't want your number (unless its for business), No they don't want to see your boobs so you can get your song played! 9 times out of 10 they have a significant other that they will go home to after this party is over!!! You ain't that fine for them to eff up a good thing at home!! This goes for MALE and FEMALE DJs alike. DJ like making the crowd happy and creating a great vibe for your evening. LET US DO WHAT WE DO and maybe, if the mood is right and the stars align you may be able to get a PRIVATE show with your favorite DJ!

If you have people in your life who always want you to support them in their endeavors, to the point where they make you feel guilty if you don't, then when it's time for them to show some support for you all they have are excuses for why they can't, maybe you should stop supporting them too. Support is a two-way Street. They can make all the arrangements necessary to support , show up and cheer on someone they don't know or aren't close to but for you, who they have known, watched from the beginning, witnessed the work, seen your struggle firsthand and know how much what you do means to you, they don't have or won't make the time. #dontletthedoorknobhityawherethegoodlordsplity

HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU ALL!!! This is the time of year where we as DJs get the calls for the Holiday Parties for all the offices, businesses, clubs, etc. That is all GOOD MONEY!!!! These are the people that will usually pay in full, up front, and will tip a little extra because you did a GREAT job (and they're a little tipsy >B=) But the ones that we as DJs get ANNOYED with are the BUM ASS PROMOTERS who want to have the Christmas or New Years Eve parties where there is a higher than normal ticket price ($50-$100), a special bottle price ($100-$250 for a normally $30-$50 bottle of alcohol) and a giveaway of a prize ($100-$500 for whatever or a 50" TV) These parties usually start around 8p and end around 2a (4 or 5a in the case of NYE) and these MFs have the NERVE to do one of two things, 1. Try to hire 1 DJ to spin all night for this type of party and only offer $100-$250 OR THE NEWER BULLSH#@T 2. Hire 3 or more DJs for the night and have them split a $500-$1000 payday. (Which gets lowered if one or more of the other DJs doesn't show up) Contracts and deposits ARE MANDATORY with these parties, but only when the price is right. And as the DJ you have to let them know, "Not a note gets played, until I get paid!!" We don't feel like hunting down our money at the end of the night!!! With CashApp, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Square, etc. THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHY THE PROMOTER CAN'T PAY THE DJ THE NIGHT OF THE EVENT! If you have to pay everyone else up front, have the DJs money up front too, and everything will be alright. Remember, you can run out of drinks, and still have a party, you can run out of food and still have a party but if the DJ stops the music and unplugs the equipment, YOUR PARTY IS OVER!
RESPECT THE DJ!!
