I've lived out of town for almost seven years now bouncing between Michigan, to North Carolina and now settled in Houston, TX so I know relocating can be frustrating. Whether you moved for a new job opportunity, college or just to get away for awhile, learning a new city can be tough. Anybody that has lived out of town knows there is no better feeling than randomly meeting someone that's from your hometown in your new city. A conversation is sparked just from them noticing your college team hat, your accent or your out of town vehicle plate.
They ask how you like it, how long you've been here and when was the last time you've been home. Believe it or not, those small conversations give you the same feeling of bumping into an old high school buddy in the grocery store except you've never met this person before. Weird, right?
It's crazy how talking to a complete stranger from your hometown gives you a sense of comfort and somehow makes you feel less lonely even if it's just for a few moments. I know firsthand everyone needs an out of town buddy so that's why I created MIBUDDY.
