There is a chill in the air this morning as temperatures fall to the mid to upper 20s. The northerly breeze is also creating wind chills in the teens at times. Kids will need to wear heavy coats while waiting for school buses! At least skies will be mostly clear throughout the day as highs rise into the mid-40s. Temperatures today are running about 15 degrees below average for the date.
Flooding is an ongoing issue across southern Indiana this morning. Several counties are still under Areal Flood Warnings at 6 a.m. Tuesday. Be careful if you normally travel through the counties highlighted under the Flood Warnings because roads may still be covered with high water.
The area should remain dry overnight and into Wednesday morning, but cloud cover will increase. Another system will slide over the Midwest and bring another round of showers. Rain chances rise late Wednesday morning with the coverage rising by the afternoon and evening.
When the showers first arrive, they may produce a brief wintry mix. However, central Indiana will primarily be dealing with rain showers as temperatures rise near 50 degrees. Rain chances continue Wednesday night and Thursday. Up to 0.5" of rain is possible across the northern half of central Indiana. Totals look much lighter to the south.
