Carmel Police Department investigating hit-and-run crash

CARMEL, Ind. - The Carmel Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred Sunday evening.




Public emergency reporting systems indicate the Carmel police and fire departments were called to Interstate 465 near Ditch Road around 7:49 p.m. to investigate a personal injury crash.




A CPD spokesperson confirmed that the crash was an apparent hit-and-run. CPD also indicated that nobody sustained life-threatening injuries during the crash.




The crash backed up traffic for a short time on Interstate 465. CPD reported that the crash scene was cleaned up as of 9:03 p.m.

Police reported that a suspect was detained during their investigation of the crash.
