Juicy J has followed through on his promise to release new music this year, taking an unconventional approach and dropping a brand new project in the middle of the week.

On Tuesday (May 21), the Three 6 Mafia co-founder surprised fans with the release of a 16-song album titled Mental Trillness 2  a sequel to his 2023 mixtape Mental Trillness.

The LP features cameos from Sukihana, Project Pat, Xavier Wulf and idontknowjeffery.

Last year, the Memphis rap legend revealed that he had been working hard on new music, which he intends on releasing throughout 2024. He also signaled that once hes done putting out said material, he will be switching up his lifestyle.

I got about 7 albums Im dropping 2024 I never worked this hard in my life, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). after this Im gonna buy a house on the beach let my hair grow all the way out & become a full time hippie [trophy emoji] ya dig?

The 49-year-old seems to have been inspired to take matters into his own hands after he expressed concerns about the current state of rap music, saying that he wants to bring his peers together and talk strategy.

In October, he took to Instagram with a P.S.A. in which he discussed Hip Hops alleged 40 percent decline in 2023 and what could be done to bounce back from it.
