TORY LANEZ'S WIFE FILES FOR DIVORCE AFTER LESS THAN A YEAR OF MARRIAGE

Tory Lanez's wife Raina Chassagne has filed for divorce from the incarcerated rapper after less than a year of marriage.

Lanez and Chassagne married shortly before the rapper was sent to prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, but now their relationship appears to be over.

According to court documents, Chassagne, who shares a child with Tory, filed for divorce last week and cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

Chassagne is also seeking sole legal and physical custody of their seven-year-old son Kai, but has agreed to give Lanez visitation and has frequently taken the child to see his father in prison.

The couple married on June 25, 2023, so the divorce petition comes just before their one-year anniversary.

Lanez has not yet commented on the divorce filing.

He is currently in year one of a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion, though he has an ongoing appeal against his conviction.

The incident happened after the two rappers got into a drunken dispute following a party hosted by Kylie Jenner in July 2020. Tory has long maintained his innocence but did not testify at the trial.

Lanez's appeal is based on "Erroneous Admission of Evidence" and "Prosecutorial Misconduct," but his motion has been delayed to allow the prosecution to examine it.

After he was found guilty, a written statement from Megan was read in court by Deputy District Attorney Kathy Ta.

In it, the Houston native blasted Tory for spinning false narratives about the shooting and making light of her "trauma" in subsequent music releases. As a result, she said she had "not experienced a single day of peace" since the shooting.

"He not only shot me, he made a mockery of my trauma," Megan wrote. "He tried to position himself as a victim and set out to destroy my character and my soul.

"He lied to anyone that would listen and paid bloggers to disseminate false information about the case on social media. He released music videos and songs to damage my character and continue his crusade."
