On Saturday, Kamala Harris was in the Peach State and delivered sharp criticism of former President Donald Trump for his role in overturning abortion rights.
Speaking at the Lakewood Amphitheater where supporters young and old turned out in droves and held "Coach Walz" and "Kamala 2024" signs, she condemned Trump's appointment of three Supreme Court justices who reversed Roe v. Wade, leading to restrictive abortion laws like Georgia's, where the procedure is largely banned after six weeks.
"Donald Trump still refuses to take accountability - to take any accountability - for the pain and the suffering he has caused, or even to just acknowledge the pain and suffering that has actually happened," Harris said per BOSSIP's Managing Editor Dani Canada who was present.

With that in mind, she brought up the story of Amber Thurman, a Black Georgia woman who died after her medical care was delayed following complications from an abortion. Trump recently mocked Thurman's relatives to Fox News' Harris Faulkner noting that he would get better ratings than the grieving family during a town hall.
I can't believe this isn't front page news:
In response to Amber Thurman's family holding a press call about her death by Georgia's abortion ban, Trump sarcastically said "that's nice" and, "We'll get better ratings, I promise." pic.twitter.com/qkCxPSFNtO

Kamala called his comments "cruel."
"A grieving family sharing the memory of their daughter with our nation. Where is the compassion?" Harris asked. "What we see continually from Donald Trump is exactly what that clip shows, he belittles their sorrow, making it about himself and his television ratings. It is cruel and I promised Amber's mother we will always rememebr her story and speak her name; Amber Nicole Thurman, Amber Nicole Thurman, Amber Nicole Thurman."
She then gave a shout-out to Amber's family including her mother who was present and holding a picture of her late daughter.
In addition to making abortion rights a central issue, the Vice President urged the crowd to remain energized in the final weeks before the election. "
We have 17 days left, 17 days left in one of the most consequential elections of our lifetime," she said.
She also invoked the legacy of former President Jimmy Carter, noting that even at age 100, he had fulfilled his hospice wish and voted early in this election.

"If Jimmy Carter can vote early, you can too!" she said with her trademark laugh and a smile.
Usher Shows Support For Kamala Harris
Before Kamala sent the crowd into a tizzy, Usher who Kamala comically called "Urrrsher", wowed the crowd with an appearance and firm support for the VP.

"We need everyone to get out there and support this campaign," said Usher. "It doesn't matter if you're gong from door to door, every call matters. We have the power to change this momnent in the present. How we vote and everything that we do within the next 17 days will affect the lives of our children, our grandchildrne, of the people we love the most."

At one point an excited attendee told the "Nice & Slow" singer that they "loved him" and he responded;
"I love you more, but I love Kamala Harris even more."
Early voting in Georgia started on October 15. FOX 5 reports that voters in the critical background state more than 1.4 million people have made their voices heard so far.
